DISCUSSION -- July 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Phyrebrat -- One common method of deception is to draw the attention of one's opponent to something trivial, while the real action is happening somewhere else. In magicians, we call it misdirection; in more serious cases, we call it a decoy.

Ah... how I do love to hear the creatures of the night... the tip tap of the writers pen against their forehead in frustration... the kettle boiling merrily to itself in readiness to create coffee, the authors ambrosia. Minion why is it that the witching hour brings out the best in me? Are the witches dancing naked around the cauldron again? Err... I've not noticed.

HazelRah
Hmmmm... someone new. They may not get the nuances of my words. What is 'Laundry' Minion? Cleaning clothes? That's disgusting. You spend all this time getting the blood stains why try and clean them out? Anyway, the Dad though, the user of every child's most dreaded word... 'No'. You can't beat evil like that.

Phyrebat
The old double-cross gurney trick again. This is typical of heroes. For every mighty warrior or courageous captain there's always the pour side kick who ends up dead in order for the plan to work. Why though do they always seem to be wearing red shirts?

@TheDustyZebra tortured me until I expanded the story! @Phyrebrat I thought you had my back, bro!

...okay, I did it myself, but just the thought of a zebra peeking into my window, carrying an ax as the lightning flashed behind her was enough motivation.
Ratsy, the thought of an axe wielding tri-colour Zebra stalking one is scarier then anything I can imagine. :D

Twistedlemon, nice story. I was "sucked in" too. I surely did not see a devil's maniacal laugh coming.

Welcome to Chrons! Our second story by an almost absolute newby! Good stuff!

Brian Rogers -- One of the most effective forms of deception is the appeal to one's ego. Pride goeth before a fall, and there is often someone there to help us fall.

Douglas Mann -- A subtle type of deception is to hide one's real motives behind pretended ones. Used properly, one may be able to achieve one's goals, as the victim avoids artificial hazards.

Twistedlemon -- A particularly unpleasant kind of deception is to make use of the other's benign intentions. It has been said that no good deed goes unpunished, and the wicked often cause this to be true.

Maybe that in itself should be a whole other writing challenge. Modifying our 75ers to integrate the 300's theme.

No, no it should definitely not. The modly shudders are back at that idea. Note the "inspired by the photo" bit, for reference. :D

RUN, ratsy, run !!

When TDZ starts talking about you writing a story she's like a Doberman. She won't let go... :D

Just some back info: I was bit by a doberman when I was around 13. I was stepping on its long leash by accident, and my friend was playing with a little kid that 'belonged' to the dog. The dog took it as aggressive and went after my friend...except I was stepping on its leash...it turned, and bit me. Ouchie wowa

I think my friend still owes me...I should find him on facebook and remind him
