DISCUSSION -- January 2016 300-word Writing Challenge (#20)

I finally got my tale in the door. Whoa. Nineteen stories to read, and six pages of chit-chat to catch up on. :) cool.

Remember, this isn't really a competition; the challenge is you doing something, while the reward is having all these gifted people reading your piece attentively. It's nice to get mentions, nicer to get votes, but the important part is to get your own three hundred - or seventy-five or whatever - words down and appreciated. And vote of course. Which means you're forced to read everybody else's carefully, being their reward.

I think I'm losing my religious belief here - OMC (Oh my Chrispy!).

As the high priest of Chrispyness I'm applying my own interpretation to the divine words above. I'm all for smiting (we all know what that involves) and old testament (get writing Chrispy, I need an old and new testament ASAP) punishment. So get writing, or feel the wrath of Chrispy! (Bowler1 checks for thunder clouds and possible lightening strikes and makes good his escape).

Smiting, ahem... sorry, voting time soon.

Which reminds me, has anyone complied the stats from all the 75 word entries for last year? It's the boring accountant in me, but I enjoyed the very lllllooonnnnngggg list numbers last year.

Chrisp is the resident statto. Must admit it would be good to see a breakdown of stories, entries, votes etc. Probably an arduous undertaking though.
Nope, for those stats we need to call on Higher Authority than even Chrispy (they can fight it out, but I know who I'd take clobbering me for cheekiness) and beg Her Honour, the loveliest @The Judge in the world to enlighten us.

Bring cake. She likes cake, I believe.

well i'm in. had an idea floating around my head for a while but checked the entries yesterday and ratsy's was far too close to what i had planned, so i started again. on the plus side it meant i could go back to my original plan, which was to write something with a penguin in it. there's also a little something hidden for those that care to look. possibly well hidden, possibly not.

Edit: i had a few words spare too. Maybe we should pool them all and see if we can make a story out of them. i think mine were "dipped its head" and "Einstein"

Had a vague idea that chrystalised in the last couple of days so have tried to do it justice ;-)

I have a suggestion for the workshop forum:

All of us who've posted stories under 300 have to rewrite ours minus the forum's cumulative total of unused words.when I say rewrite, I mean tell the same story.

I'm happy to set up the thread when the voting's over - it could be a valuable exercise in editing. There'd just be no vote at the end.
