Discussion Thread -- March 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

I' 've kept away from this month, nothing would come to mind. The downside is I'll have to read through the entries from scratch instead of when they were posted. Will take awhile to cast my vote.

Seemed easier to pick my favourites this month - maybe I'm getting more discerning in my old age.

Short List:

Traveller's Tales, @Victoria Silverwolf - I loved the whimsical representation of the alien child and the fact that it was Earth that was the source of wonder.

Radiant, @J5V - I was wooed by all that lovely, crunchy science talk and left wondering by transcendence.

Population One, @Bowler1 - Funny, clever and all-too-believable.

Wasted Days & Wasted Nights, @willwallace - I loved the idea of the jealous ship holding her pilot hostage. Precious cargo indeed.

Whale Song, @Juliana - This vision of life inside a giant creature was delightfully evocative. One can only imagine the horrors to come.

Vote:

In the end, I was captivated by @Robert Mackay's beautifully composed Symphony From A New World. Bravo indeed.

It was a fun contest! I really would have loved to vote twice- though I understand if this would have been difficult to option in BBCode.

Will there be a run-off in case of a tie? Or is it like baseball where 'tie goes to the runner'? Though I have no idea how that applies to a writing contest. Maybe it's like football where a coin toss decides if all other stats are tied.

Ok team, we have our first suffer from writers block - prepare the pineapples, sashes (of various colours), tree frogs and laminated phrase cards (life was so much easier when I was on my own). Ok... lets roll team. We're starting at the top with a moderator, so be prepared for a low down and dirty scrap.

Wow. Thank you so much for the listings Drolet and Parson. And Bowler, I went from your cross-hairs to getting your vote! Thank you so much :)

You forget bowler, I'm not a writer :D

Ten votes in, ten different vote receivers. That shows the quality of (great) writing this month! :)
