Discussion Thread -- March 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

Take Rasty off the hit list (a pity to do so, but that's the rules (I could change the rules, but I'd risk the wrath of Chrispy and I'm not that brave)).

A simple but effective addendum to the rules, would be anyone who scrapes in by the skin of their teeth.... and then makes light of it ;)

One day I will let Bowler take a shot at me! Then he will learn I am but an illusion....

Parson slides in with his nano story. (pun intended)

Bob Senior -- The surprising climax to this story demonstrates how our reactions depend on our perceptions.

mosaix -- This story shows the reader how large and small are relative terms.

TheDustyZebra -- The author offers a unique vision of a whimsical apocalypse.

It's not Bear hunting season yet, but when it is....

Nice one Parson, all the more fitting as I have a head cold I can't seem to shake off. I could be the carrier for an invasion, sniff, sniff. I leave, eyeing Ratsy with suspicion and with one hand on my holster.

Do you have a nasal raygun? --- A quick burst, hm, maybe not.

The Judge -- Like Pandora's box, this powerful story shows us to expect the unexpected.

Ursa major -- The author offers a clever parody of classic space opera with a modern twist.

"Discontent" by Sigfrid von Shrink

This offbeat love story really stuck in my mind.

Must be my lucky day, an excellent review, and then a short listing. Thanks Victoria!

Once again, the culling knife is bloody. Well, I've cut and cut and I canna cut no more. So:

Honorable mentions: Ajid Shyrka Robert Mac Beasty Bowler Chrispy Wiil Alex Still learning Juliana VB DG Tim J Mosaix (oh, sooo close) Ratsy.

For sheer originality I could not pass on Luiglin's flea sized entry. Nicely done again this month, everyone.

I was having a hard time discerning where Space Fantasy began and Space Opera left off. In the end I understood Space Fantasy as a BIG TENT.

Memorable lines:
Ashleyne B. Watts "How I Went Missing" --- Most eyebrow raising first line.
Venusian Broon "New Moon Rising" ---- Biggest groan of a last line.

Short list:
Robert McKay "Symphony From a New world" --- Bravo! Encore!
Cascade "A Man of God (or Vice Versa)" --- A General in a Priest's collar.
Alex Darion "The Fate of Mankind" --- Venus Flytrap written VERY LARGE!
Glen "Legengeever" --- Mystical, a clear Space Fantasy
Bob Senior "The Send Off" ---Paradise is in the eyes of the Beholder
Ratsy "Genesis" --- Brilliant! The Snake hole was great.

Voted for
Cat's Cradle "Galactic Interlude" --- What we have here is failure to communicate, BIG TIME!! Nicely done
