March 100 Word Anonymous Challenge - Discussion Thread

"R & R" -- This imaginative tale reminds us that advanced technology seems to be magic.

"Auld Gold" -- With a poetic, evocative touch, the author creates a strange new world.

"Dark Arts" -- This ironic story shows us there is more than one way to skin a cat.

"Spinning a Yarn" -- This post-modern fairy tale shows us that wishes don't always come true.

OK.
So now that you've all finished the 75 word challenge, and had a bit of time to read the stories and consider your vote, you've probably had some wonderful new story ideas that involve:
Theme: Gold
Genre: Fantasy
which funnily enough are the specifications for the
100 Word Anonymous Writing Challenge #12
which is playing on the other channel.

We're only a PM away.

Oh! I forgot to ask.

If anyone really can't enter, but wants to be famous anyway as the mystery extra name, please send me A PM.

I'd hate to have to replay Mr Mackay's trick, and use my own name.

It's just a jump off the cliff
And a candidate to the right

Be the envy of your friends!
Seek FAME, FORTUNE and the CHRONICLES WAY.
Just 2 more days to enter.

We're only a PM away.

I'm afraid I shall be away from mid morning tomorrow until late afternoon on Monday, with very limited internet access, so expect delays in my posting your story.
Furthermore midnight GMT will be 2 in the morning for me, and I have a big meeting the following day, so if you post just before the deadline, don't expect to be put up until Tuesday.
On the other hand, anything PMed after Midnight GMT on Monday will not be accepted.
Happy Easter.

Great stories, great hosting! 23 is a terrific total...the most in a fair while, I think! Looking forward to the voting, and the reveal.

Just when you thought you had your vote chosen, another great story arrives to make you doubt your choice.

For you late enterers, don't forget, you only have until Midnight GMT.
That's only 12 hours (and some minutes) from now.
So you'd better get those last edits finished quickly.
(or come up with idea fast if you haven't begun yet.)

I'll be waiting.

Only 3 hours to go, now, so get your entries in quick.

I will be putting up the late arrivals, and the poll and runners list sometime around 4:30 GMT tomorrow.
Until then it's sleepytime for me.

Voting is now open for the March challenge, and will close in 3 days time (Midnight GMT 31st March), so you don't have much time.

For those of you new to this challenge we also have an author guessing game.
The entries were all posted under my name to conceal the true author.
I shall shortly publish a list of the authors, plus one name who did not enter a story.

You can then make guesses, on the basis of their previous entries, as to who wrote each entry.
I will let you know how many correct guesses you made.

This is only a bit of fun and even the more established members have trouble correctly guessing, so don't be afraid to try.
I had a go myself yesterday offline and I only got one right.

A thoroughly respectable 25 entries this month.

My thanks to all who have contributed, and special thanks to Victoria for her wonderful (as always) reviews.

What are we to take from the different colours. Have black names written good stories and red names written poor ones? Have red ones written more fantastic stories and black ones focussed more on gold? It's all too confusing...

Firstly a big thank you to Farn, who did an outstanding job this month.
Another painful month, where I wanted 24 votes. But...
Honorables: Alchemy (soo close) -- Blind Greed -- Be Careful with the Dragons Lair etc. -- Crown of the Heavens. Great job from everyone again this month. I had to choose so I picked one with a message that spoke to me. All That Glitters. Can't wait to see who wrote that little gem. And the others, of course.

I'm sorry.
I have no idea how that happened.
I copied the list directly from my Excel spreadsheet and it played with the colours itsself.
I think maybe I originally copied some of the names into the spreadsheet from the PMs themselves and it's carried the link across.
It certainly has no bearing on how I felt about the stories.

I like my unclickable anonymity. It makes me feel enigmatic.
