Discussion Thread -- April 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

My first time trying to write something of this length. Pretty awed by some of the stories before mine.

I probably said this before but I'm saying it again. I hate real life. I'm back now and I have read and enjoyed the stories so far. Below is my interpretation of the stories and is not meant to make fun of anything or anyone. I know how hard these challenges can be. Anyway, while my day is rainy, I hope all of yours are sunny and bright. (y)

Luiglin-A story with a bit of the unknown. Perhaps a little spooky.
Cathbad-A typical childhood experience from the perspective of someone not used to discrimination.
Ahleyne B. Watts-A story with a bit of a mystery.
Nixie-Someone or something that lurks in the shadows, forever watching and waiting.
Droflet-Truly a man in a strange world.
StillLearning-Perhaps the child made a dangerous choice after all.
Kerrybuchanan-The dangerous red button shouldn't have been pushed.
Shyrka-An indecipherable message
chrispenycate-Perhaps a cat or a dragon is in need of a little sustenance.
Perpetual Man-Caution keeps a barrier closed.
Cat's Cradle-A love story that bridges differences together.
Farntfar-Will desperation win in this tale of need?
Victoria Silverwolf-A view outside answers the question what's out there
Wruter-Humans, next on the galactic menu.
DG JOnes-Makes one wonder about the chef's resources
Highlander-Lost communication proved disastrous
sinister42-Alone in a universe filled with others.
Ihe-The mind wanders when not occupied.
Singers-A family mystery that puts a spin on an old story
The Big Peat-Only a mother will love her child no matter the circumstances

Always wonderful to see brand new members in the challenges!
I have a quick note, and forgive me if this isn't necessary...I wasn't sure if the newer folk were aware that if they add a title to their stories, it doesn't affect the word count? It's mentioned at the beginning of each challenge, and in the challenge rules thread, but I've noticed over the last few months that often new writers with their wonderful new takes on a month's genre/theme choices do not add a title. Which is cool...that can be an artistic choice. But just in case any folks are ghosting the site, and thinking of joining...and thinking of entering a writing challenge, feel free to add a title! The right title can help a story! CC

I have noticed that, however it slipped my mind when I posted it! I think its too late to add a title now, but next time...

And especially when you run out of words in the main body of the story :D

A shocking abuse of the spirit of the challenges, VB! To suggest someone might expand their story in the title...add a location for their tale, say...or a plot element...or a character...or...hmm, I must get back to my 300 word challenge story... :) (But that is what a good title can do for you! Expand the essence of your tale...maybe?:))

I didn't think, but I should have because of the 100 word story. Thank you for reminding me. x

Thank you Victoria and Calliopenjo :)

I couldn't settle on a title for mine so I left it untitled but I think I'll take a little more time next time and pick a good one.

Great stories so far folks(y)

Finally got my own little tale in, I'm usually in earlier... Time to have a peek at the three hundred worder ;)
