September 2016 100 Word Anonymous Writing Challenge Discussion Thread

Out of the Highchair - Defiantly a mistake to end all mistakes but I am puzzled as to what juices are blistering?

Conclusion of Jayne Krakov's Newscast: To Interview a Superhero - Ah... A new take on what i means to be super. I think the superhero's names could have been more subtle though...

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S COMEDY OF ERRORS, AS YOU LIKE IT - Classic

Just One of Those Nights - Oh the agonies of new love...

Merriment of Muddlement - oh this reminds me of that skit by Ronnie Barker and made me smile.

Mirror, Miwwor - Not sure what the story was...

Star Wars IV - Deleted Scene #86 - This, this was just brilliantly funny!

A Loss - One of those events that get "lost" in the history books ;). Very funny.

The Curse of the Dropbear - Not sure what a bropbear did or why they are after him. Or is it his paranoia that is making him think they are after him?

Mistaken Assumptions - I just feel so sorry for the guy...

Left hand down a bit… - This sounds like one of those mistakes that get you transferred to another planet.

T Minus Minus -
This was a good one. It makes you really feel for the men serving under that officer.

There and Where Again? - The road goes over on!

Alien Incorrection - Yes I can get this one... dam autocorrect! Had me in stitches.

Hell is spelt D-M-V - Well.... as long as they are happening to OTHER people

A Prehensile Tale - Did he go onto become a superhero? Tale Man or some such? lol Good story.

The Shakespeare Project. - LMAO

Guess away! (y)

I went and voted for The Shakespeare Project.

Eggggs-celent! :sneaky: Not that it was my story or anything.... Or..?

Sorry All, I should have said more than just 'Guess away'. So anyone that's doing their first anon, or even if you didn't enter you can still vote and join the.....

"Guessing Contest..test.test.test.."

So the list of authors above has one extra 'ring in' added, who never actually wrote a piece.
The 2nd part of the challenge is to try to match the story to the author, and the one person left over, or that you suspect to be the ring in, you attribute your own story to. If that makes sense.

As people guess, I'll comment on how many they get right, and if they got the same as other people etc.

I know a lot of it is just guesswork, but I still think it's on par with a mention or a vote when I see someone attribute my story to somebody who I'd consider to be a level above my own.

I think I am to new for this! I haven't had sufficient time to learn peoples styles! lol

I think that's how the annon got started. Looking to see if there was peggable qualities to the voiceyness of our writing. Then the sly, can I sound like not me, or maybe you?

The first three I got in on I was pegged straight out. After that it was hit n miss for a while, now I'm rarely guessed as me. Not sure if this is because I am putting less and less of myself into my writing, or because life is leaving me less and less time to come hang out and get my many voices heard throughout the forum. Probably a combination of both. :)

I have to agree that when something I've written gets attributed to a writer I admire and respect that's better than a like or vote next door, as it tells me I'm getting better. I also like to see the quality of writing that I get attributed to. Another indication of where my writing is trending.

I've yet to figure out a guessing strategy that works. One time I tried a side by side read through of the 75s and the 100s looking for similarities... It got me two more guesses I thought I knew, but I was wrong. One of them didn't even write, the other wrote something else.

Ok here are my wild, shot in the dark guesses! I have played a little swapping game and given someone else my story and taken myself out altogeather (just to keep people guessing! lol

Elventine has TWO correct guesses. One of which would be incorrect, had anyone else suggested it.. ;)

Elventine has TWO correct guesses. One of which would be incorrect, had anyone else suggested it.. ;)
Meaning she correctly identified the red herring by giving them her story, which she said she was passing off for confusion sake...

Or I can't follow a clue, :lol::p

So I got the red herring? Wow! That was lucky....:eek: Two.. Not bad I guess seems as I really just went and randomly joined similar sounding names to story content! :X3:

Could be, could be....

If only we knew Elventine's story, we could work out who the herring is.... ;)

But then would the other guessers use this knowledge, and give themselves away by attributing their own stories to this herring?!

Or would they pick an entrant they know isn't the herring to protect their own identities?!

:confused::eek:o_O

This challenge is rapidly descending into chaos! :cautious:
