Discussion Thread -- FEBRUARY 2017 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

I'm digging this theme, genre. I already wish this was a larger challenge, like a 300 word deal. I could really have some fun with this.

@Shyrka .... helps us to understand why the race is not always to the swift.

@Cathbad .... helps us to understand that clever and wise are not the same thing.

@Luiglin .... helps us to understand that when someone gets bashed someone else thinks it was a bash.

@Cory Swanson .... helps us to understand that inattention can lead to absorption.

I've got to say that I'm really enjoying this genre. The fables have been wonderful, and probably should have a wider audience.

@BionicGriff .... helps us to understand that no sanctuary is forever, nor is any predator immune from being prey.

Welcome BionicGriff I hope that you are enjoying your time here in Chrons. I think you are in the right place because your story is well done.

Hi Parson, I definitely am, very happy to have found this site. I appreciate your kind words about my story, this is the first time I've shared anything I've written outside of school/college in public, great to get positive feedback right off the bat!

Hey, no problem, it was a nice fable and I tried write down what I saw the gist of it was.

I see you've been around a bit found your posts about yourself. I also know now that you are a bit like me. I am not a "real" writer. At least not in the fiction side of things. I have a big half of a Bible Commentary written, but haven't worked on it much for years now. Maybe when I retire.

Well I hope sci-fi fables count... I had fun writing "In the future..." straight into past tense.

Parson, that's fantastic that you got so far. Could you find a place to pause around the end of the OT? Then the end won't look so far away! My grandad worked on a comparison of the four gospels for about 15 years, he'd given up but we (the grandkids) managed to tidy his drafts up and publish his book. It was a bit close in the end but he was able to see it in print, which made him very happy.

Ah, you've misunderstood or better put, I was unclear. I am writing a commentary on the Acts of the Apostles. It's not an insignificant amount of words. I've got about 150,000 words in the manuscript. If you'd like to see a bit of it just p.m. me.

@Stable .... helps us to understand that when you remain a child you're also childish and selfish, neither of which is willing to make a mother's sacrifice.

Well, I got something down. Not an easy one this time but I did get it done. As for my 3000 word story entry, I kinda sorta got it done and in but I would have like to have more time with it to refine it a bit more. I actually started to get something towards the end but by that time it was too late. Well, I didn't hold out much hope for it anyway. We'll see.

I looked up how to write a fable and kept the spirit of rules in mind when I wrote it. Not great but I got something. I hope others had more luck.

@Calliopenjo .... helps us to remember that the rhythm of life continues and continues and continues.
