Sorry for the stealthy stuff. Been busy over the weekend looking after sick grandson and working out how to stick a finished novel onto Amazon.

To cap though, some great entries but I selected @Stable @TheDustyZebra and @Ursa major just cause they stayed in my memory.

TheDustyZebra hooked me in immediately. I love the prose and enjoyed the story too. A clear favourite.

My other two votes were more difficult, but I went for HoopyFrood and Peter V, who just about edged it over a few others.

And thanks to everyone who has mentioned my story. I've got far more mentions than my first attempt, but one less (hence zero) vote! I still see that as progress.

It's taken me ages to read the stories. I seem to be reading even slower these days!

Overall a good batch as far as I'm concerned. There were a few I liked that I couldn't shortlist due to errors and a couple that were really well written but didn't feel like stories to me. I'd have liked to have had five votes as I have two others I had a hard time deciding on.
