Discussion thread -- June 2017 75-word Writing Challenge

@Shyrka .... Reminds us that progress means even more progressive criminals. Anything can be stolen, no matter "However Improbable" the heist might be.

Your story reminded me that I must be helpless nerd. My first thought was quantum tunneling....

@Vaz .... Writes a Science Fiction tale woven inside a ghostly Fantasy, reminding us that there are forces within forces which keep us moving inside the "Tesseract."

Tywin's story sounds suspiciously like many a game of Civilization that I've played.

"Prepare for WAR!"

*goes back to main screen, orders an attack on the city*

[game pops up and says "Do you really want to violate the peace treaty?"]

Yes!

[game pops up and says "The Senate overrules you."]

Dammit. "Never mind."

@holland .... Points out the ridiculous nature of an interstellar universal translator and the need for people to understand one another, especially as Murphy will play a role. As the narrator screams in frustration "No, the Universal Translator Device Doesn’t Exist in the Far Future, Shut Up!"

@Tywin .... Reminds us that friend Murphy will show up even in the future for the worst possible reason at the worst possible time as illustrated by "The Mutiny of the 761st Interplanetary Marine Regiment: “The Bloody Belt Bandits.”

I just want to say that even though my story didn't explicitly involve cats, it also didn't explicitly not involve cats. You know, just in case anyone shortlists on the basis of the presence or absence of cats.

Other than the title, which deliberately uses a stereotypical cats name, my story also does not actually contain a cat.

Or does it?

Looks like I won't be able to do any reviews this month as I'm away with work for a while. Sorry! Normal service will resume next month.

Also, my story appears to be missing its requisite feline element so, uh, maybe the thing in the vault was a cat, okay? :D

@LittleStar .... brings us poignant tale that we hope is far future, where the Murphy rains down utter destruction on the "Last First Date."

@Cat's Cradle .... Moves us into the world of the chimpanzee, where demonstrations bring power and power brings food and females, but only when you can control "Ahem."

@johnnyjet .... Helps us to remember that good old Murphy is not limited to one planet or one star system. Any knock on the door might be Murphy when you are "Outward Bound."
