Discussion Thread -- September 2017 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Profit at the cost subjugation and pain
BigJ sees London bridge brought down again,

While Nixie introduces a great big spider,
Instilling the hope that Muffet can find a hider,

Dave introduces us to race like a Loon,
All to see the bovine leap the moon,

Perhaps parental guidance should be stronger,
If lying though perhaps Calliopenjo’s nose gets longer,

With a slender wish, a bit of hope and a smidgen of repentance,
Can a found fruit help mitigate Jacks cruel sentence?

Although it could be seen as morally perverted,
Cul presents a fable strikingly inverted,

Like the persistent ticking of a doomsday clock,
Through Travis we have an apocalyptic knock,

Although this challenge seems to have us pumped,
The origin of Wruter’s entry has Perp stumped,

Oh good lord, by all things sacred,
CC gives us a leader naked!

Is our Parson delivering a political thump?
Playing, with humpty, his canny trump,

For the terrors that hunt him he’s not ready,
Perhaps Peter will escape his tickling nightmarish teddy,

@Shyrka .... In the end it was an act of preservation of the many that caused the poisoned Apple. The details are to be found @MagicMirrorVideoBlogging/Dr_Evelyn_McQueen

@Perpetual Man .... pulls us into the depths of the sky driven by a Knight with no name in a boat pulled by swans seeking the "Mythic" truth of the stars.

*hugs all round the thread*
I wasn't planning on being back yet. But when I popped over on a whim to read what we were up to this month, inspiration took me by the throat and wouldn't let me go till I'd submitted.

It's better to be back than I remembered.
*extra hugs*

Hope, I don't see what you submitted. Hopefully you have a copy somewhere.

Until I get internet back at my house, (which should be soon) my only copies are in thread.

(Palm to forehead!) I even reviewed it! I just thought you were talking about something just done and so I looked for the last one to review.

Mirror for a Bell, @Wruter – This wistful parable shows us that something shared, despite the loss to ourselves, can lead to something greater.

Downsized, @Cat's Cradle – Relying on smart fabrics is not a smart decision when you annoy your tailor.

2016 Commentator’s Personal Recording, @Parson – This topical take on current affairs takes a look at how an “egg-regious” personality of today will be remembered in the distant future.

Like a Teddy Bear, @Peter V – A cute children’s rhyme becomes a nightmare sci-fi vision of overly-familiar parasitic alien life. A personal space invader, if you will.

Mythic, @Perpetual Man – The quest for knowledge leads two separate generations of the same family toward an uncertain fate. Legendary.

It's been really quiet around here the past few days. But now....

@D.A. Xiaolin Spires .... Shows us that the real pro was in the hood, but the local wolves were a symptom of "Tightfisted Networks and Cheap Facades."

Shyka shows us a good queens decisive plight,
A different angle that chills the skin to snow white,

Perp tells of curiosity and a distant nova,
But can say no more until the challenge is over,

Pigs, wolves, scarlet hoods from D.A Xiaolin Spires
All gone wrong so the star retires,

@Hugh .... shows how a simple tale can become a fairy Tale with a liberal dose of selective remembering leading to "The Guilt of Hindsight."

I often don't have the chance to read the stories till voting day, but Parson, your review of Hugh's entry so enticed me that I had to read the tale ... very nice, Hugh!

(Also, while I was on that page, I read your story, D.A. Xiaolin Spires - it's terrific. Well done!)

Many thanks indeed @Cat's Cradle and @Parson
