Star Trek - Discovery - 1.10: Despite Yourself

The constitution class ship Defiant looks a bit different .

I also forgot his name, so no worries. I knew who you both meant.

Specifically, how? What is it they are complaining about on the other forums you have read? Have you seen this episode yet? Do you know that the USS Defiant isn't in it? (Although other Constitution Class ships have appeared.) Any problems with Defiant's appearance, then you should direct them to ST: ENT where the story came from, and to TOS: Tholian Web which set the idea up.

I wasn't complaining . :unsure:I saw screen shot of a scanner outline of the Defiant. The basic profile looked the same bit for example One detail ,I picked up the engine pylons for example had two additional horizontal projections which suggest impulse engines? Not sure what they are.

The whole MU idea is inconceivable* - that our two universes diverged when Cochran welcomed the Vulcans at Montana in one, and shot the Vulcans in another, but that for the next 200+ years later, after many generations, the exact same people, not only exist in both universes, but are working on the same planets, space stations and starships out in deep space. However, if you suspend your disbelief, and you accept that, then it doesn't take anymore to believe that the Terran Emperor could be a MU T'Kuvma transformed to look and behave like a MU Ash Tyler.

I'm sure that we won't see this though. Tyler is a transformed Voq, and I'm placing my bets on Phillipa Georgiou as the Terran Emperor.

*Which is not the fault of TOS: Mirror Mirror - a perfectly good little story that worked on its own. It is ENT and DS9 that took it beyond belief.

I believe it was Sir Terry who once said: “The Universe is so vast that potentially it can contain anything, and sooner or later, it does.”

Or words to that effect...

They dared transform Tyler in a klingon, so everthing is possible. I still cannot forgive them for doing this. :p

Didn't one of the shows have an issue with people fearing antimatter reactors and warp drive because of this very issue (DS9 perhaps)??? Though I believe their fear was more universe exploding rather than universes colliding. And aren't certain species against warp drive also? Of course, warp drive is NOT the thing that caused the initial mirror universe anyway. It was the transporter.
