I used to love the code word style crosswords, would spent hours on puzzle books that contained only them. Most logic puzzles can keep me amused then sudoku came out drove me crazy, I couldn't get my head round it finally I gave up.
Months later I glanced at one it clicked, I couldn't believe something so simple could have eluded me for so long. Spent a few weeks with them then got bored.
Sorry for rambling but Victoria's reviews this month have hooked me in, thank you.

Most logic puzzles can keep me amused then sudoku came out drove me crazy, I couldn't get my head round it finally I gave up. Months later I glanced at one it clicked, I couldn't believe something so simple could have eluded me for so long. Spent a few weeks with them then got bored.

Nice to know another Sudoku player. However, you are right Nixie about getting very into a puzzle game, then after a while it seems repetitive. But puzzles do help if your are waiting in line at a drive-up bank, or in a waiting room. Makes time seem to go quicker for me. Got a couple of Sudoku books in the car, just in case.

Ironically, I still need to decipher Victoria's message. I thought it was very sweet that she did that for everyone, to tie into the SPY genre.

@Victoria Silverwolf .... I am utterly amazed at the work you are putting into the reviews. Even if the reviews are a simple cypher (I don't know I've not come close to translating one of them) it still took a lot of effort on your part. Thanks for adding some interest to this month's challenge.


@nixie .... I've done a few Sudoku(s?). They make sense to me, but I'm not careful enough sooner or later I mess up. I have to do them in pencil. Victoria's cypher has left me flummoxed. I'm guessing that each review has a different cypher, based on the first word always has four letters, and if that's so, I'm even more out of my depth.

I just came back to this thread. This could be a serious problem.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. Technically the Mods should have to decode all the messages to be sure nothing offensive is contained therein.

I think you should each be allocated 5 messages each with an overlap (to check each others workings) of at least three messages.

E.g. You would get the first five and then the Judge would get messages 3 to 7 and Pyan would get 5 to 9 and so on.

Then after you've translated them all you can compare notes. I know for a fact that some of the messages could be considered "dodgy". I mean Victoria can be very cutting at times.

However, I'm sure all you Mods have considered this and have them all nicely decoded so it's obviously not a problem.

Oh to be a Moderator, what fun you must all have!
