Discussion - January 2020 - 75 word writing challenge

I found it difficult to keep to the 75 words. Any thoughts on how to self edit with those kind of constraints? How do you convey other elements that are part of you thoughts while heavily editing what you write or is that the point, "Keep it Concise"?

Play clever twists on words which have multiple connotations. And hope, like hell, that a few readers understand the tweaks.

@elvet .... A Cat’s Life in Years .... Elvet writes a sweet story of love, devotion, and science coming together for a sweet compromise.

@Ann .... On the Seventh Day .... Ann gives us a story which reminds me of T.S. Elliot. "How does the world end? Not with a bang but with a whimper."

@chrispenycate .... A better can opener .... Chris reminds us that with sufficient time, patience, and foresight any wild thing can be tamed.

@Jesse Harris .... A Purr-fect Opportunity ..... Jesse points out the hazards of being an interstellar trader with allergies.
Welcome to the Chrons Jesse! Entertaining story for sure.

@Mouse .... Wheek .... Mouse shows us that the rule of unintended consequences applies even when you think you're being brilliant.

@Artoriarius .... Look What Followed Me Home .... Art's tale reminds me of a song: "It looked like a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' Purple People Eater to me."

@Perpetual Man .... SB .... Perp writes us a tale which is a wonderful; possibly terrible: depends on your point of view, inside joke. Non-Chronners will be left rubbing their chins, while Chronners will be holding on to splitting sides.
PS>I like the new avatar.

@Clockworkbot .... Death to Spies .... CWBot writes us a cautionary tale about animals, trust, and security.

@Abernovo .... Adaptation .... Aber gives us a story that puts a whole new spin on the adaption necessary to live on a new world, an adaption which should serve as a model for living on this planet as well.

Thank you, @Parson, for such a lovely, thoughtful review.

I just came across the forum, and apart from a post discussing a particular author, this is the first that caught my attention (of course then I went and read the actual short stories).

lovely tales, especially liked:
- the commentary on the superficiality and vanity of the human/pet relationship by @Cat's Cradle (#NotAllHumans but, you know),
- the nice piece of sci-fi that @elvet wove, which I'd never considered but might actually come true
- @Clockworkbot's tale, which really appealed to me for its structure and wording, for some reason (apart from the fact that it was a terrific action scene)
- @Luiglin got me chuckling, although I'm sure many others did/ might have had I understood their references.

Overall though, nice stories, nice ideas, and apparently nice people! So pleased to make your acquaintance!

I know this is far from the best post to do this, but I'll go nose around and check out the forum's rules in a minute, and hope I'm not breaking any or being annoying by posting here =)
