DISCUSSION THREAD -- January 2021 75 Word Writing Challenge

@Ursa major .... Not Depressed At All .... Sometimes there is no escape button.

@The Judge .... Careers Destroyed but Death – and a Daunting Buccal, Pharyngeal and Oesophageal Challenge – Averted .... Sometimes escape needs to break out of an obvious pattern.
*The Judge wins the prize for the longest most definitionally challenged title in the history of the 75 word Challenge.

Not sure if this is a long shortlist or a long shortlist (far too many good stories this month)...

The Valiant Finalists

Iwroteathing
- A delightfully quirky comic tale.
Sule - A sweeping time travel epic captured in just 75 words.

The Winner

@Luiglin
- Just a wonderful scene-setting story that makes you feel warm inside + a wonderful title.

Thanks so much to @paranoid marvin, @sule, and @Guanazee for the votes; @Heijan Xavier, @Victoria Silverwolf, @The Scribbling Man and @Provincial for the shortlists; and @Edoc'sil, and, as always, @Victoria Silverwolf, and @Parson for the wonderful reviews.

And a warm welcome to the Chrons to both @Guanazee and @G.T.

Thanks for the welcome, I've been lurking for a few days. My own shortlist for what it's worth.

Vote: The King’s Well - @Shyrka: a very good descriptive short, in my opinion at least. At first mysterious and then enigmatic and finally inevitable.

Escape Artist - @Guttersnipe: I liked the twist at the end, very in-keeping with the text.

Luck of the Draw - @TheEndIsNigh: Nice little vignette with a slap in the face for the heroic escapee.

The Further Adventures of... - @Guanazee: So much information in such a short dialogue, I'm just a little jealous. Well done.

Reanimation Assessment No. 7653 - @BT Jones: Well formatted socio-political commentary. Sometimes others think we aren't worth what we might think we are.

Mission Irresponsible VII - @M. Robert Gibson: Entertainingly funny dialogue. Building character in such a short piece is masterful.

Careers Destroyed
but Death
– and a Daunting Buccal, Pharyngeal and Oesophageal Challenge –
Averted - @The Judge: nice take on the old verse with a challenging ending. The title is a story in itself.

How are you guys tagging specific users in your comments?
