@Daysman .... FELIX CULPA .... Sometimes the scientific method is cruel.

@TheEndIsNigh .... The Cure for Global Warming .... No one wants to meet their fate smelling like a sweaty mess.

@Starbeast .... The New Attraction for Professor Fate's Galaxy of Terror CIRCUS .... Misunderstands can sometimes leads to weirdest conclusions.

@reddishbird .... Bouquet .... A meaningful metaphor missed or misplaced opens the door for a withering glance and determined turn of the back or its metaphorical equivalent.

@Dan Jones .... The Interpreter .... To understand a message you must dependent upon the honesty of the reader. This is a less than optimal situation.

@Guttersnipe .... The Beginning of the End .... Understand this, there is no wind so ill that it does not blow someone good.

@mosaix .... Everything You Thought You Knew Is Wrong .... as anyone should know, lying makes everyone go crazy because a liar is not dependable.

@elle telle .... Afterwords .... reminds us that afterwards there are afterwords.

@Sinergio .... THE INVISIBLE DETAIL .... Ah yes, a good metaphor might be a bad choice.

@chrispenycate .... Wordlessly wet .... Chris slides us into a world of telepathy and treecats for the fullest of understanding. ---- Hm, I wonder what this poem is an homage to?

@Mr Orange .... Galos’o Taramet’ar (I like your sexy goose) .... Ah, the danger of only knowing a few words that someone taught you is probably more than anyone could realize.

@Hugh .... The Key .... When light comes into a room a lot is revealed, so too when the incomprehensible becomes comprehensible.
------- Linear A anyone?

@johnnyjet .... A Soul to the Universe, Wings to the Mind .... Communication is so much more than understanding the words.
---------- A subject near and dear to a Parson's heart.

@Peter V .... Monolith .... For me this story is located in the ruins of a twentieth century mega-mall. It made me smile.

@Dave .... Boaty McBoatface .... Clearly lack of practice leads one to make serious mistakes.

@M. Robert Gibson .... And that's why the Human/Troll war started .... Some translations need to be more dynamic and less literal.

@Moonbat .... Just ask Big Brother .... And now we know how Big Brother became a part of daily living.

johnnyjet: You don't know what's gone until you miss it.

Peter V: Some basic messages are the most important.

Dave: Pure democracy has its own problems.

M. Robert Gibson: The more a statement is repeated, the less it means.

Moonbat: There is such a thing as too much information.

Parson: Those in power often use language to avoid communication.

A fair post, Dan.
Personally, I feel terrible that I am not as active in the discussion threads as I once was - I feel as though I am letting the Challenges down. I just don't have it in me at the moment to be more active... just been a really hard year+, with COVID affecting life so dramatically for everyone, and losing pets.

A huge thanks to Victoria Silverwolf and Parson for keeping the lights on, with their wonderful reviews. I read them all, and I bet many others do, as well. I'm always very happy to read the new stories, and to vote... just to participate in some way. The Challenges are a lifeline for me to a larger world, both of people, and imagination. So I'm here, a lot of us are even if we're a bit quiet now, and I hope once things are more normalized to be able to participate more than I do now. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who enters, to those who take the time to write reviews, and to those who read and vote; and Dan, very nice to have you back in the Challenges. :)
