DISCUSSION THREAD -- January 2022 -- 300 Word Writing Challenge #44

@Dan Jones .... “A TRIP TO THE SEASIDE” .... Der Vater absurder Geschichten hat gerade eine Walgeschichte mit einem vernichtenden Ende erzählt.

** That was the Father of all Farce; frankly, frightfully funny while giving me fits.

Stuart Suffel: The cynical nature of self-interest is vividly portrayed in this tale of the fantastic, full of unpredictable plot twists. Although we may disdain the ruthless characters depicted herein, are they really so different from our darker selves?

Parson: In this historical romance the reader is taken deep into the main character's mind. It is a rare gift for a writer to be able to convincingly create a character of a different gender from the author, while simultaneously bringing the past to life.

Mouse: In this clever twist on classic themes of fantasy fiction we find a subtle, but profound, insight into human relationships as well. All such interactions are full of advantages and disadvantages, it seems.

Daysman: The way in which mainstream fiction slowly evolves into science fiction, fantasy, and horror in this expertly crafted tale draws the reader into a world of limitless possibilities. In this way, we understand that the unexpected is just a breath away.

chrispenycate: The intricate, labyrinthine structure of this carefully crafted poem is an apt reflection of its theme. Like a house of mirrors, the verse surrounds the reader with multiple images that lead to a single center.

@Mouse .... Getting to Cloud 9 .... Mouse writes a twisted tale of love and betrayal which really includes a tail and some scales.

@Daysman .... A Tiny Odyssey .... Sometimes when you don't look too closely everyone gets to look too closely.

@chrispenycate .... For Comfort in Captivity .... Chris makes me doubt his title for there sounds to be no comfort in this captivity.

@M. Robert Gibson .... A Conversation With Walter Rego .... M. Rob helps us to see what it means to make-do when your muse takes a mate.

Starbeast: This rollicking parody of a pop culture phenomenon offers plenty of slapstick as well as the deflating of overly serious melodramatics. In addition to this, there is a wry look at the nature of heroism, and how flawed human beings rarely rise to it.

@mosaix .... Talk To Yourself… .... Sometimes the line between the planes of existence are very thin indeed.

@Starbeast .... Star Wars: A Rogue Tale .... Reminds us that a rebellion runs on its stomach, gasoline, and luck. Besides that having a good parson is always important.

I caught a show last night with a Cotswold farm who started up a sheep's milk vodka distillery

I've had vodka from them and it's pretty good. Also you'd never know if you didn't know, although you might think it was a little creamier than most vodkas. But that's all end product! To mix it with Bovril...

Ok, everyone just calm down.

No one is mixing vodka with Bovril.

OK?

No One.

I mean, maybe a little Marmite...

Or a touch of Vegemite...

BUT NO BOVRIL!!!
