DISCUSSION THREAD -- January 2022 -- 300 Word Writing Challenge #44

A truly difficult choice out of a terrific set of stories.

My short list

Angles. by @Stuart Suffel
The Laughing Woman by @Victoria Silverwolf
Here, inside. by @Astro Pen
The Colors of Fireflies by @Cat's Cradle
The Gossamer Veil by @BT Jones
Life Changes in a Moment by @Parson
Getting to Cloud 9 by @Mouse
Princess Priscilla’s Glorious Day by @Bren G

all of which could so easily have been chosen. But in the end you have to chose only 3 so
My votes went to
@Stuart Suffel
@Parson and
@Bren G

@Christine Wheelwright . If you hadn't gone over the 300, you would certainly have been in the short list.

@Mouse. Does Mr. Mouse know you wrote such a story, based on a picture of your own wedding? Is he a light sleeper now?

And many thanks to @Stuart Suffel , @BT Jones and @Starbeast for the mentions. I am so happy to get them.

Hey, just seen this. Thanks Farntfar!

Nicely done stories this quarter. Hard to narrow down to just three, but here we go:

Votes

@Astro Pen - Here, Inside - a look into to the future of human relationships 2.0
@BT Jones - The Gossamer Veil - Art imitates life in this wise timely tale
@Mouse - Getting to Cloud 9 - nicely written, smart and humorous. That clever Mouse!

Runners Up
@The Judge - Wedding Dress - the three 'R's of conflict underpin this story - writing, rebelliousness and reconciliation
@The Big Peat - Darkness Sought - many stories of matrimony cross our eyes, but few as Machiavellian

Votes to:
Divbrat, Aber, & Perp.

Almost-vote to Dan for 'assfeeder' and because I love nudibranchs and not many people know what they are.

Hon mentions to all who got 'mouse' in there, or spookily got my real name (and there were two of those!)

and not many people know what they are

Here's one that looks like some sort of culinary creation** (what with the almost random lines of "chocolate sauce"):

** - I'm almost surprised that it isn't something that Mouse baked and decorated.

…because I love nudibranchs and not many people know what they are.
Bonus points for not pronouncing nudibranch like it’s the naked part of a tree.
