DISCUSSION THREAD -- FEBRUARY 2022 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Bowler, have you ever considered diversifying? A sideline in scythes and sickles, perhaps? Or you could resurrect the fashion for axes and hatchets, not forgetting the roaring trade in torches.

@redzwritez .... Untitled .... RedZW shows us the ultimate in left handed compliments tied with an hilarious pun.

Scythes are notoriously unwieldy, except for cutting vegetation (I still prefer using one to a lawn mower). Sickles are much better, and with a polearm, are great fun, er, tools. Axes are lovely, but I have to agree with @Bowler1 that there is a certain traditional elegance to the idea of the pitchfork.

@mosaix .... Sleight of Hand .... MSX has me revaluating what it means to be a fake: "Are you a fake when you are a fake fake?"

I'm a pitchfork man and always will be, but I am a great believer in each to their own. A well formed mob should have some variation in tools, sort of like a Swiss army knife, which I suppose could also be used in a pinch. A scythe could be unweildy in a packed mob, but sickles and an ax of any sort are welcome, with a mace being are a good choice too. I have to say Abernovo seems to be worryingly well equipped and I suspect some mob activity in the distant past, but what happens in a mob stays in a mob, so I won't ask.

We'll... I'm glad to say things are shaping up nicely. Keep those... tools... handy and we'll wait for the right moment.

@Hugh .... False Self .... Hugh paints us a beautiful picture of love touching a lost self.

@reiver33 .... A Better Yesterday .... R 33 reminds me that a lot of memories are fake and maybe that's valuable.

@Mark_Harbinger .... MINDFUL LISTENING .... M.H. points out that compounding lies compounds sorrow.

@nixie .... Alien Invasion .... Nixie, why am I thinking about H.G. Wells and War of the Worlds?

@JS Wiig .... Counterfeit Balloons .... JSW tells us a tale of pixie dust with his tongue placed firmly in his cheek.

@Phyrebrat .... Open Casket .... P.B. writes us a clincal description which borders on scientific analysis and then ewww! just ewww!

It's a throwaway comment I know, but it's from the heart: I'm really looking forward to reading all of these.
You'll get your chance when you read for voting. The reading is fun, the judging and voting is hard.

I am venting my darkness. Hopefully it will be therapeutic.

If whoever wins this 75 could come up with a theme of pink fluffy unicorns and a genre of Happy Ever After fairy tales, that would be a real challenge.

@Peter V .... The Cautionary Tale of Faux Clint Eastwood and the 3D printer .... P.V. reminds us that not everything that looks fake is fake and the consequences of that mistake can be dire indeed.
