Yep! I sent that to this thread as my very first "offering"; but I surely appreciate the "compliment" of you sending it now to try to revive this thread! And I'm *honored* that you would invite folks to my site! <lowers head and shuffles feet> I still have to update it; I don't think the last two filks have made it there yet........
I've actually been wanting to revive this thread, too, but just haven't had time. WAY too busy with end of the year stuff at work, Christmas prepping, and trying to focus on finishing a fic AND an article for Starguide (sorry it's taking so long, Darren!!

BUT, I have started a "12 Days Before Christmas" thing over on the Gategoers list! Why don't I share it with you all, too???
Okay, here goes:
It started 2 days ago, with:
12 days before Christmas inside the SGC,
Hammond bought a Christmas tree...
then yesterday:
11 days before Christmas inside the SGC,
Jack hung the lights,after
Hammond bought a Christmas tree...
and today:
10 days before Christmas inside the SGC,
Daniel strung some popcorn, after
Jack hung the lights, after
Hammond bought a Christmas tree.....
Now, I invited others to participate over there on gategoers, but I've gotten no takers yet. How 'bout here? Someone want to do tomorrow for 9 days before... and we can see where it ends up? I'll stick with my original ideas on the gategoers list, but I'd LOVE to see what else this group can do with the "song"! So, what d'ya say??? Who'll take tomorrow?????
Oh, one more thing: is there any way to turn this "thread" into a regular "subject" in the main list? Since it'll surely be ongoing, seems like it'd be a good idea, if it'd be possible.....

Songbook? What a fantastic idea! Skip, Debra Kraft, keep it up you two; just 'cos this thread's 5 pages long already doesn't mean it can't continue! I am going to check out the filks with all the songs I have heard of (not many), esp. Skip's Slim Shady, as its the only one I'm sure I, or rather my sister, have got.
All discworld fans, funny filks can be found on a site, that I can't remeber the name of at the moment. Am I allowed to put on addresses of site I don't actually have anything to do with, but I've just visited?

YES With Two warnings 1.if you have checked out the site and they are a really clean 'g' for the whole family its O.K. (For examplr, most of the stuff posted here is pretty 'g' rated in nature (no swearing, sex or violence) and 2.if not as clean post a warning. We don't do anything but fun here! I am sure that you can use good judgment on that!

Hi! This is my first post ever at this site.
Just a few ideas for the songbook (some updated classic oldies):
"Tollan on a River" by CCR
"Nox on Wood" by Sam and Dave
"Apophis-ful of Miracles"
"If a Body Meet a Body Comin' through the Ra"
"Apple, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie. Who's not Ready? Chappa'ai!"
"When You Wish upon Sokar"
Kinda goofy, but so is the thought of Goa'uld singing! (Worse than Klingon opera...)

Just click on the icons that look like silouttes at the top of the page and find a moderator in the alfabetic lists or click on the mail section at the end of a moderators post. That will get us fast.

Just read the latest on the Songbook, including singing (kind of) Skip's 'Dim and Shady'. That is great, it fits the song really well. Carry on going, I might actually think of one to do.
