1.1/ 1.2 : Broken Bow. Parts 1&2

We have one UK gan so far... anymore???

I've already posted my comments... nothing more to add, except that I can now see all the fine detail in the picture and some of the special effects are much more impressive than I had realised -- the Suilban aliens, and the city in the atmosphere.

Just out of interest, Neo, how many episodes have you seen now?

Just read all the posts, very interesting.

Have to say that staying aboard the ship at the end out of curiosity seemed a little strange. Just wondering round the ship with no way of escaping unless they came back for him. And the lack of guards or anyone there was well bizarre. I really don't think many peoples curosity is that strong!

Glad someone else noticed the chemsitry, methly oxide? Would love to know what that is!

My hubby and I watched this with anticipation and thoroughly enjoyed it.

You have to keep remembering that this is set before TOS because as watching Voyager or TNG you take it for granted about some things as in the transporter for one.

The suliban aliens were impressive with the abilities they have. Am looking forward to next weeks episode. :D

annette :)

I have been so looking forward to this and I was not disappointed. Even got my Hubby Dave to sit and watch it with me and he usually leaves the room and finds something else to do about 10 minutes into any Star Trek or Stargate epp. So that tells me it was different enough from the usual ST.

I agree with earlier posts, I liked the fact that not everything worked properly and that the characters were not sure of this new technology - it had a real current day human feel and these guys are not the squeeky clean 24th century humans who don't know how to yell 'you don't know how hard it is for me not to knock you on your ass' (or words to that effect) at a vulcan ! loved that bit.

Glad we have the cornish pastie headed Klingons - they look much better and for a moment there I thought it was our old mate Worf (or one of his ancestors) - but that would have been just a bit too cheesy and anyway they've done that b4 - Undiscovered country.

Yeah, I think the shower scene was gratuitous, but then on the other hand I'm not complaining that we got to see our Scott in his bright blue underwear - I do lurve that man, always have !

I reckon these characters are going to fit well together, T'pol stands out from the crowd right now, and I can see that the Doc is going to be a lot of fun.

Looking forward to next week :rolly2:

How do you rate them? Does it get better, worse, stay the same?

I'm deliberately not reading the other threads or magazine articles until I've watched the episode, (just the pictures!) I won't have to wait long now, I'm sure SKY ONE will show them back to back.

They get better and some get worse...

I shall be giving Enterprise a chance before I consider stopping watching it which I don't think I will. Plus watchin Scott Bakula in action is an added attraction. :D

By the way, did u know tis repeated on Sunday afternoons?

annette :)

LOL.... knew u would stick by it Annette... good on ya

Well worth watchin on a sunday .... just to make sure u got it all

Definately get better... well worth hanging on for

Cant believe in some countrys they aired Part one & Two on seperate nights and even on different weeks... That would have driven me potty

That would be us in Australia. Part one was shown at ten thirty at night and part two was shown at the same time a week later. But at least we're getting Enterprise (not now because of stupid sports) unlike voyager and ds9 (upto seasons 5 & 6 respectively on tv).

Regarding Broken Bow, I didn't really like this episode, it had some good parts but fell flat for me. I've stuck with it to see if it gets better and so far it has, for the next few episodes at least.
