And people, please stop with the lame explanations of how Alfred had the money. Nobody in his right mind would make a will where the solid businesses and the money would be separated. If Wayne Industries did not have the money, nobody had it.

Not really sure what your problem is here. A guy dresses up as a bat to fight crime after learning the ways of the ninja from some secret Tibetan society, and you're worried about the legal/financial ramifications of the guy's will? Bruce left it to Alfred in his will. Says so in the film. So... does it matter beyond that?

Who gives a sh*t?

Re: Batman Begins!

exactly.

and i really doubt a butler has the mind to run a big business.

Re: Batman Begins!

Hahahaha...nothing really, just that so many people have been marvelling over how much more believable this Batman is since it takes the pains to tell you that "Look, he had some guy building all his gadgets for him"

Re: Batman Begins!

because you dont understand it and others do doesnt make it any less believable.

Re: Batman Begins!

I couldn't believe what an arse I'd been about this movie... Bought it on DVD today and watched it tonight...

OMG!!!! What a great movie... Thankfully Michael Caine wasn't as annoying as I'd had feared - though Liam Neeson made a lousy Ra's Al Ghul... Much preferred David Warner's voice in the cartoon... :D

I thought the smattering of "A" list actors in support roles was good... Morgan Freeman was perfect as Lucious Fox and Gary Oldman played a TOTALLY believeable James Gordon - loved the whispered "sorry" as he skidded the Batmodile off the parked cars!!! PRICELESS!!!

The movie felt better than previous ones... Not the pathetic comic-book artificial colours... But something bigger and mentally darker even in the light of day... :D Christian Bale was a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman... Though where was Harvey Dent??? And bringing The Joker in at the end was a nice touch for any suspected sequels!!! ;)

Re: Batman Begins!

Is this film better then the original batman film Tim Burton one ?

Re: Batman Begins!

Yep... It is more believeable...

You could believe that a man could go through this...

Tim Burton's was very comic-book-ish... Though I loved Michael Keaton... He was a fantastic Batman... Remember going to the cinema to see the film... :D

Re: Batman Begins!

My personal preference remains for the Burton film. I found BB rather drawn-out, boring and stilted. And "more believeable" only means that some pat explanations are given, it doesn't really much more convince you that a man would think of dressing up as a bat and fighting petty criminals hand-to-hand in his bid to control crime.

Re: Batman Begins! Question...

Okies I have a question.
Wonder if anyone can help.

At the end, with the joker card, was that to tie in the other movies?
Or are they starting from scratch and that was a pre-cursor to a sequel?

Re: Batman Begins! Question...

I have a question too do they show or tell how he became batman ? The story behind batman

Could be, but there hasn't (as far as I am aware) been mention of a Batman Begins II!!! ;) But you never know... Hmmm... Batman Continues???

Yes, but not at great length... But there is the death of his parents and his travels to find himself...

The cast is signed on for 2 more films. It will be awhile as both the director and Bale are doing another movie before even thinking about the next Batman.

My take on the situation was that this was a "do-over" or "reboot" if you will. These will not tie into the other films.

My view on the film is that they finally got it right.

Re: Batman Begins! Question...

Joel Schumaker was a complete ARSE when it came to the follow-up Batman movies...

And you are right, this one did FEEL right... I enjoyed it immensely... But miss Michael Gough (and Efram Zimbalist Jnr's voice - in the cartoon) as Alfred... :D

Why is it, no one ever does Alfred Penworthy as The Parasite??? (that was what he ended up being, wasn't it???)

Any news on Hamell playing the joker yet??

Re: Batman Begins! Question...

Oh, hell... I forgot about that simple thing... Who could play The Joker??? Or The Creeper!!! HAHA!!

Re: Batman Begins! Question...

Jack nicalson allready played the joker which was an outstanding performance , Plus batman knows who killed his parants (in Tim burton batman) so why this same stuff all over again?

The Burton movie's story is different from the comics in who killed B's parents. Doesn't make a big deal to me, but you know with all the comic fans...
