Creative rhyming

for he hadn't moved in twenty years
a shell of man, hiding his fears

As nimble as a being could be
 
but it slips away like flotsam in the tide.

Cheeks awash with tears, his face hides in his hands
 
His fate awaited, turning he looked it in the eye, how brave . . .

. . . stepping from his chair he look a lungful of air
 
stepping out the front door he was faced by a bear!

Oh lord beware came a scream from a girl all wan and pale!
 
ducking the swiping claw, he grabbed the girl and ran over hill and through dale.

collapsing in exhausted heaps, the girl shivered and shook looking at the hill ahead so steep.
 
upon her feet, she just wanted to sleep.

No sleep girl, cried the Lord, we must away.
 
Where to but the Bay . . .

. . . to the Bay of gulls we must alight, the only way to avoid the fight.
 
Tea simply won't do after what we've been through

But you did save my life, and while I won't be your wife,

I might be talked into some fiddling with you.
 
So he got out his violin and started a tune

That caused her to dance and clap and sing

Her cares were gone, and not remembrin' a thing

She said maybe I'll have some tea after all

But His Lordship said "Tea's off, falderee, falderoll"

And she said, "That dance made me thirsty and tired"
