Lilly Devine

Lilly dislikes her job. Day in and day out, she sits at her desk doing boring things, and she wishes she could be doing something else, something that fills her with job satisfaction. Her ideal job would be as a travel rep, but she gets bad motion sickness. She writes her dreams and daydreams down in her journal, though, hoping that one day she'll either overcome her sickness or become a famous author for it.

Rose White

A publisher of some repute has read Lily Devine's letter and accompanying manuscript and although she feels Lily is an interesting and imaginative writter she is not compelled to have Lily's book published. Her motives are purely selfish. She remembers Lily from her school years, when Lily was amongst the more popular girls in school. A young man Rose had persued had rejected her in favor of Lily. However Lily had toyed with his emotions and in the end the young man had taken a vow of celibacy and joined a monestary vowing never to have anything to do with women again.

Rose had never recovered from this rejection and still blamed Lily for her lost love, where as infact the young man would never have loved her even without Lily's rejection.

However a past character is about to enter both Rose and Lily's lives again.


Laurence Lexington

Laurence Lexington

A multi-millionaire and aesthete, Laurence has dedicated his life to the study of hedonism. His parties are extravagant and often wide-ranging in their specialties, sometimes with special 'themes' where anything goes, all so that he can better appreciate how people enjoy themselves. He fervently believes that by learning about the human desire for pleasure, he can better appreciate the world around him, but he is unaware of the problems he causes for the people who take part in his parties. He continues with his lifestyle, treating people as mere test subjects, thinking that the money he gives them will resolve their issues.

well that was this mysterious man's current name, he had many over the years. Bertram's background was somewhat obscure. He had lived far longer than he cared to remember. Bertram was not a normal human, having been cursed to live forever or until he attoned for his sins, which could be a very long time as Bertram had committed great crimes.

Bertram was tired, it was no easy task to live so long, continually changing his identity, his home, his lifestyle. Watching loved ones die!

Lavina was an artist, renowned for her paintings of calm, tranquil scenes and still lifes. She exuded a sense of inner peace that everyone seemed to envy, and no matter what she saw in front of her, it was difficult to shock her out of her serenity. She had been called beautiful by many and had many suitors, but she'd only had eyes for one man ever since she saw him. He became her muse, and she started to turn up at the places he liked to haunt to watch him. That was when she discovered what he was truly like.

Beatrix's long suffering husband. Bert had meet Beatrix at a mens wear store many years ago, he had been trying to decide what to wear to an upcoming wedding. Well Beatrix being the person she was had not only helped him pick out his outfit but had also wangled an invite to the wedding, where she spent the night resolving everyone else's problems.

She swept Bert of his feet and in due course they were married. If Bert had only known...................................................................................................

Beatrix was forever involving herself in everyone else's lives, trying to solve everyone else's problems but her own.

Bert had put up with it for 25 years but now he had finally had enough, he had come into a considerable amount of money through an inheritance and had decided to leave Beatrix and make a new life for himself.

He had brought a lovely cottage in the country and hired a house cleaner to come in twice a week, finally Bert was contented.

But how could it last when he was about to encounter.

A rather dogmatic man with high ideals, Randolph believes that he is correct in everything he does, and he makes it his business to find out what everyone else is doing. Some see him as a vicious gossipmonger, but he sees himself as a paragon of virtue, exposing peoples' secrets to see the consequences. He doesn't even acknowledge that what he does is disruptive. So it's no surprise to learn that he's not the favourite person in the town, and the people don't like him very much at all.

Marcia Gray:

Possessing a remarkable voice, Marcia has used it to climb from her humble origins as a tavern-keeper's daughter, to a position as the the entertainer of choice at the best and most successful parties given by the aristocracy.
Low, caressing and throaty, she manages to give the impression that she's singing individually to each person in the audience, and is in high demand for her renditions of classics about unrequited and doomed love.

Yet another in the long list of Marcia Gray's admirers. Sadly for Caleston he is a married man, with three beautiful children and a reputation to maintain.

Unlike most of Marcia's admirers he cannot be satisfied with her singing to him but wants to posess her mind and body.

Caleston sends her letter of love and expensive gifts all in an effort to win her love. Tormented by desire and after constant rejects though he vows to destroy her life.

Max had been a bus driver all his life, but he had never had a day like that before. Previously, his daily life consisted of getting passengers from A to B, and the most disruption he'd ever faced was when someone got on without the correct money, or ifsome teenagers were creating havoc on the back seat, but after the incident that day, his life was never the same. He lost faith in his job, which he had previously enjoyed immensely, and left to become a milkman instead. Now his life is rather dull, full of early mornings, milk, yoghurt and eggs. He constantly wonders why things happened the way they did that day, believing it to be an eternal mystery.

Loretta Chapman

Waits for her milk delivery, 1 litre of skinny milk and a dozen eggs.
Loretta wonders what happened to her old milkman and is suspicious of the new one, in her mind he looks like he would ravage her, kiss her with wanton desire. However it is all in her mind.

Loretta has always had a vivid imagination, when she was young she thought she would be kidnapped and sent to live with the gypsies, when she was older she always thought she would be "discovered" but it never happened.

Loretta is convinced that her brother in law always wanted to marry her but was to shy to ask and instead settled for her sister.

The youngest of the family, Sara is also the most outgoing. Whilst she doesn't consider herself as physically attractive as her sister, she makes up for it with her personality - after all, her funny stories always liven up any party. She didn't know that her husband previously liked her sister first, although she suspects that something may be going on.

Ownes the local fruit and vegetable store. He has lived and worked in the same neighbourhood all his life. He often chats to Sara Chapman and enjoys her company and cnversation to that of her sister Loretta. Loretta who accused him of chatting her up, which was completely untrue.

Once Tobias a great opportunity to go into business with a friend and they had plans to buy many shops and build up a large company but Tobias's wife's had talked him out of it, told him not to risk the safe business they had built up, and he had listened....... Still Tobias dreams about what could have been if he has instead gone into business with

An actor of great renown, Trevor loves the thrill of appearing in front of many thousands of people to perform. His melodramatic tendencies have landed him in trouble on many occasions, especially with the people in his amateur dramatics society, and he is a well known figure in his town for turning every minor incident into a theatrical tragedy. He lives alone, save for his cat, content in the knowledge that he alone is the centre of his universe.

However her chance comes when the leading actress in the latest production of Romeo and Juilet elopes and Romy is asked to stand in. So tonight Romy will be playing Juilet opposite

A little known actor who comes to the group with a mysterious past. He arrived in town three days before the casting for the play, and was the first in line to play Romeo - and was picked without the director looking at any other actor. His apparent charisma is such that already most of the female cast are lusting after him, and his growing entourage causes chaos wherever he goes.

Has always enjoyed going to the latest productions with her wealthy sister and brother-in-law.

Isobel herself could not afford to go to a play, her modest pay does not afford such pastimes.

Isobel sat entranced watching the character of Romeo, so handsome, so charismatic and yet so familiar to her, where had she seen him before? Isobel's memory was not as sharp as it had once been but she knew it would come back to her.
