Latest writethrough of Sunset over Abendau is finished. Now at a much healthier 86842 words, with a little cliffhanger ending, which means at sometime I will come back and write the third. Just have to sell AC first. :eek: I have about 30000 to either have betaed or to implement beta's suggestions of, but aside from that, it's in the virtual drawer for a couple of months.

Yay! Two written... faints with shock...

So, back to Inish Carraig, which stands at 40000, but about 10 of those are a character arc that I liked and tried to force into this book. Having spent a few weeks on Sunset, I now reckon she's the focus of the second book of the series, so I'm starting my count at about 30000. Here goes... :)

Trouble is, I've just stuck one of my girlies up against someone far stronger than she is, and I now can't work out how to get her out of the situation.

A friend of mine once had to get off a train carriage that had a couple of thugs standing in each doorway, preventing people from disembarking. She knew she didn't have the physical strength to move them out of her way, so she pretended she was about to vomit.

They couldn't get out of her way fast enough! :)

Diana Book 2: story and chapter outline - 3695 words over the last two days. Ready to start writing actual story tomorrow.

Book 1: finished first basic revision. Came in at just over 20,000 words, about on target for what I wanted. Will leave it for now until I have book 2 or even 3 done and then go back and re-read it all.

Final target: 4 books that tell the adventures of a year in the 12 y-o protagonist's life. 80-90,000 words in all, divided into 'books' of around 20,000.
Ghosts done, now for Vampires. Book 3 and 4 have Werewolves and Witches.
 
Inish Carraig: I didn't have to take out as much as I feared, so I had about 35000 in place. Ticking along nicely, I think I have a lot of the plot holes ironed out, and am pleasantly surprised how much of it is standing up to the readthrough/edit. Current total 42237, hoping to get it up to around 80000 which seems to be my natural length. We'll see...
 
TBM: 69,686 words! Today I've written 443 words. I've got another 15k to write until I've hit a decent word count. If only I could write a thousand words a day, I'd be finished soon!
 
Inish Carraig, am motoring at this one, I have a bit of a deadline in mind:

48728, some early expansion needed, but it's coming into shape. Need to get some ray guns in there, yet. :)

Didn't post last week as was feeling a bit daunted by the road ahead.

Inish Carraig, now at 57686 words. Drafted to the end. 80 pages more to be reviewed and edited, but these are still very first-drafty at the moment.

But there is a beginning, a middle and an end and I'm hoping by this time next week to have finished a book that isn't based on the Abendau stuff. At which point my personal writing Albatross might have moved a little further away... :)

Ps sorry Bowler, still no ray guns.
