New GRRM Update on ADWD

Hodor I

He awoke suddenly, the small cracking of wood off in the distance disturbing what was already another night twisted and tormented by "the dreams". Hodor, he thought grimly. He knew this day would come, MUST come, yet the shock of its' arrival still startled him. The men approached quietly, and he was equally quiet as he padded out to meet them. Hodor, Hodor, HODOR. He had to clamp his hand over his own mouth to keep the words from spilling out.The others still slept. Bran seemed to be running in his sleep again, but showed no signs of waking. The others never stirred. Hodor, he thought grimly. It was better this way. He could not bear to see their faces when they knew they were betrayed.

I got an advance copy of the book. Sorry to spoil it for you guys :(

Looks like we got ourselves a writer here. :)

I should only be one tenth as good as the Master.

I think I'm going to send that little piece to my prankster nephew, just to yank his chain :D

Cul will soon be posting a link to poll** in the Challenge thread itself (a couple of post below your entry). There's usually a link to it from the discussion thread.

** - Due to the number of entries, we can't use an internal Chrons poll. EDIT: It seems we can, thanks to Brian. :)

There'll be a link in both the challenge thread and discussion thread (provided by our good Ser Culhwch).

*D'oh. Beaten by the bear.

So, I should stop wrestling with Ko............. err, wait. Let me see if anything pops into mind :D

You know, I could see GRRM making Brienne actually kill Jaime. I feel there has to be some significance to him giving her the Valyrian sword. That sword is going to crop up again somewhere. I do believe that Jaime will die before the end [sobs!] and Brienne killing him with his own sword to keep an oath to a dead woman is just the sort of twisted honourableness and irony that GRRM would go for. The whole idea leaves me uncomfortable, both for Jaime AND Brienne, so yeah it will probably happen! Cersei needs to be worked into the picture somewhere though, as I also believe she and Jaime will die together (or at least within a very short span of time).

There's much more of a precedent for your version of events than mine. Let's face it. They're doomed. :D

GREAT NEWS for audiobook aficionados

Roy Dotrice, the Grandmaester, has signed to to ADWD

Mark Addy sounds like he's doing Roy's version of RObert BTW :)
