I alwys look for subtle changes in "the force" What I've noticed is that GRRm hasn't done a blog update in 8 days. That might be the longest time between updates that I can remember. I just have a feeling that he's very very very close to being done and an annpouncement is imminent

I thought the same thing yesterday while browsing. No news is good news as they say. I can't believe I want GRRM to wait a little longer to announce it! June 1st will do nicely or, failing that, June 4th - just for you Imp (or even May 31st - for the helpful Wert ).

The delay was because he was away at a con. His newest update certainly wasn't, 'It's done!' He also mentions another con coming up, and a pile of non-Dance work to do. I think May and June both are unlikely.

Hurrah for The Imp! I agree. Silence is golden, as Queen Victoria's birthday is a scant four days away, and a holiday, I'll be happy to accept my prize on May 25th (as I will be engaged in barbecuing, croquet, badminton (amongst other lawn sports) and later, fireworks, on the 24th, which is when GRRM will type into his Not A Blog: "It's done!").

Strange. George finished the book yesterday, but there has been no announcement. I mean, yesterday was the 24th, but there was no announcement.
He must be keeping it under wraps for some reason.

BTW, Ursa, Queen Victoria's birthday is a statutory holiday in Canada (the Monday closest to the 24th getting the nod. Happened to fall on the 24th this year). First long weekend of the summer, which is very important in Canada, because our summer is so dang short. This one was absolutely glorious weather-wise.

And, in Canada, we have come to call this holiday as "May 2-4", in reference to drinking a 24 case of beer while sitting by the lake at your or someone else's cottage. That's certainly what I did. Yay for global warming!!!
