I looked at the Loncon site and it said: The World Science Fiction Convention... which kinda put me off. But if it's all sorts, that's much better. I see if I'd read on I would've got to: extend these explorations into the worlds of fantasy, horror, slipstream and alternate history...
Worldcon I find very crowded - that's one reason why I really liked the Alt.Fiction events in Derby - there's a much higher ratio publishers/authors/editors to writers/readers. I'm kinda hoping the World Fantasy Convention next year will be like that - easier to network when there aren't thousands of readers!
Hello all. Newbie here! I thought I'd ressurect this thread to see if there are any more souls attending WFC 2013. I've just booked my ticket. (Really ought to have done that earlier.) I hope to see some of you there!
I loved the idea of the theatre in the round/ ghost stories sessions (I studied theatre and love it) and hope to get booked into them. Lots of good stuff being announced!
Simply that I've paid for advertising, but the chron ad seems to have been relegated to the "advertisements" page only, and the people I emailed about placing the order no longer appear to be replying to my emails.
Looks like whoever is maintaining it has dropped the ball - I've seen at least two banners (Arthur Machen, Michael Moorcock) that aren't on that ad page!
