Oooh, tough choice! But I am feeling in a jovial mood and so Dusty got my vote :)
 
As I had Hex's story as a runner up in the main poll, my choice in the tiebreaker poll was easy.
 
It was a very hard decision (and I did not use a random contrivance in the end), but although I loved the idea of Lady Jane and the overlapping reality with observers, in the end someone mucking things up with a time machine just stole it.

Congratulations to both, and thanks for making it such a hard decision. ;)
 
I'd already voted for TDZ in the first round, so tiebreaker was easy... But there were some seriously good entries, the whole voting process was painful from the start! Why is it so much easier to write the challenge than to vote for the winner??

Aargh! Hex was my original vote and TDZ was in my shortlist.
I stuck with my original choice, but they're both brilliant stories.
 
Been a busy week. Just checked back in here at Chons and find another tie this month.
Having just reread both stories I can see why. Both are excellant. This will be tough.
I need to think a bit and vote later today.

Hands over large bottle of sauvignon, two WKD, and a quarter of vodka. That should get you both through...

Really hard to choose, but I went, just, just, for Hex. Which worried me, cos TDZ has my address, and could put anything in my Xmas card. :D

Well done, both of you!

(looks down at collapsed co-winners, lifts bottle of sauvignon; they evidently don't need it. :))

Parson wanders in after having voted. Finds the inhabitants in a state of blubbery inebriation. Pretends not to notice.

Both Hex and DZ wrote great stories one short listed, the other voted for. But a votes a vote, so Hex again. We are well within range for a tied tie breaker. If that happens I seem to remember that the pair were to combine to name the next challenge. It makes me shudder to think what happens if each gets to give one word of a new challenge. We might wind up with something no one has ever heard of before: Maybe Tudor-Punk? :p Or Chopper - Fantasy.:p:D
 
Congrats on the tie-breaker guys! I enjoyed both entries very much but my vote went to Hex in the end.

Congratulations to Hex and TDZ for making it thus far. It was tight, but I voted for Hex this time.

Very difficult, but I finally went for laughter over tears. Both are marvelous though.
