Well, three hours later and I've finally got a shortlist, finalists, and Votes*. Any of the finalists could have won, and any of the shortlist could have been finalists. In other words, I've got 16 entries that I wanted to vote for... but having three votes is such a marvellous thing, and so, here they are:

This, for me, was one of the most difficult challenges to date in terms of choosing which stories would make my short list, and there were many that, after much painful deliberation, didn't quite make it. I had a short list of twenty (!) to begin with, so reducing it to a less overwhelming number was a very difficult task indeed. In the end, this is what I came up with:

I felt awful having to narrow my choices down to three votes. My original short list had 90% of the stories. Two days later I had a finalist list, so I went with that and chopped it down to three little votes.

I never gave the title much thought. I meant for it to read like a message somene had found in a bottle washed up on a beach. So with that intent, I just left it untitled.
