Discussion -- 300 Word Challenge #8

No. I can't look at it, it depresses me. And reminds me I still need to go read them all and vote.

Sorry, messed up the tidy percentages::D

Wow! What a great challenge. Did I mention how much I like that picture?

My Top Ten ( and *votes)

springs - Yes, I love a good faerie tale! Great stuff!
Talysia - A really complete story; I loved the notion of the Leviathans having been cleansing the oceans!
Mouse - Simply brilliant. Nice dislocation at the close...I didn't see that ending coming!
Perpetual Man - A wonderfully imaginitive tale. Space Whales: lovely.
Abernovo - Utterly believable; I was right in there!
Kylara - I love the pervasive air of mystery in this. Nicely framed imagery.
Alchemist - A chilling tale, I thought!
Grinnel* - Lovely pacing. I find the story fascinating - it's strangely easy to empathise with Perion.
Chrispenycate* - Great story; lovely overall flow, that's some nicely crafted lyricism, too!
Phyrebrat* - Once again - stunning! Such a uniquely inspired piece - the imagery is rich and vivid, the tale nicely askew!

Well done to all though; it wasn't easy shortlisting, at all!

Thanks for inclusion in your Top Ten, stormcrow. :)

Feel like I should learn to play the guitar now! :p

Well done, everyone!

Nice surprise Johnnyjet, thanks for the Top Twelve listing! Yes it is great company TheDustyZebra.

There are still half of us that entered the challenge that have not voted yet.

Um... well.. this is somewhat odd...

I've been a bit pushed for time this week, and I hadn't bothered to come into this thread nor look at the voting when I've been around, as I was sure my entry would be as baffling to everyone else as it was to me. So... um... I can only think people have read Perp's great review, which tells the story better than I did, and voted on that basis. So thank you, Perp.

Anyway, thank you kindly for the shortlist mention, Talysia and anyone else I've missed, and very special thanks to those who have voted for me -- I shall blazon your names abroad -- Aber, Boneman, DEO, Hex, idiot prince, Perp and Scott.

*goes to check the rules to see if she can close the voting early...*

No, you can not stop the voting short; with my limited web access I haven't voted yet, and I haven't missed a challenge yet. I have all the stories downloaded, though, so I can go forward even if I can't tell anyone.
