Discussion Thread -- SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE -- December 2013

I managed to get mine up this morning, but due to office renovations will not be posting any comments today :(

Santa and the elf will just have to wait it out until tomorrow!

Thanks for the review, Perp! Nice to look forward to your comments again.

Thanks Juliana and RJ84, I'm quite enjoying the commenting I forgot about the fun I could have with them.

WooHoo, more reviews.

Starbeast looks at bowler1 and asks, 'where did you get that strobe light on your head?'
'What light?'
'Rays light?'
Bowler1 points, 'look, over there....'
Starbeast just stares at bowler1.
Bowler1 runs off... 'Its mine, I'm keeping it.'

Heh heh. You look you good in flashing red. Watch out for the street traffic.

Thanks Starbeast, for the review. Wow, some great entries, so far. I'm glad I posted early!

You're welcome Boneman. I thought I'd post early too. I came across a couple of stories that were similar to other ideas I had at the beginning. But fortunately, I can relax now and review after submitting my entry.

Fab entries, indeed. Thanks, Starbeast!

You're welcome Springs. I highly agree, there are awesome tales here. I can't to see more of them.

Thanks a lot SB, much appreciated

You're very welcome Ratsy.

I must concur, some great entries so far, well done all :) Ta for the review Starbeast! I wish I could have figured out how to incorporate a hot chocolate dispenser now :D

You're welcome Mith. Strangely, I was thinking about an idea I had about androids and reindeer. And you incorporated them nicely. Well done.

I managed to get mine up this morning, but due to office renovations will not be posting any comments today

Ah, now I can review you. I hope you don't get in trouble using your office computer at work for fun here.

Faith/Sci-Fi
(part two)

RoninJedi84 - Great Galaxy! Talk about a tale of biblical proportions. This is a very unique story that took me by surprise, and the title was absolutely befitting. A gargantuan and interesting idea.

Remedy - Fantastic science fiction drama about a son's powerful love for his parents, and wanting to join them in oblivion. Sad, but an excellent emotionally driven tale. Tremendous X-Mas offering.

Mischov - Incredible story which gives the reader a great open window to behind the scenes of the mysterious toy factory, that utilizes biomechanical elves. Amazing retooling of Santa's workshop. Nice to meet you.

Juliana - In the midst of a galactic war between the humans of Earth, and an alien race from another world, two lovers try to survive. Heart-warming and beautiful with two people of different planet races in love.

Starbeast - I had all sorts of ideas this time around. I had to keep going back and forth checking what was already posted, then rewriting a whole new a story a few times. I knew I had to submit early.

BigJ - Wow! A stunning offering about a cosmic war between two advanced races in the galaxy, and both believe that God is on their side. Steller idea that blew me away. I feel like watching the movie, The Kingdom of Heaven again.

Perpetual Man - Are you trying to make me cry? Well, you have succeeded. This magnificant drama took hold of my heart and made my eyes glassy. Supremely touching and devinely wonderful.

springs -- The author makes use of a difficult situation many people face, and adds a touch of speculation to solve a tricky problem.

Boneman -- This story slowly builds up to a conclusion which is chilling as it is inevitable and logical.

Mith -- With a delicate touch, the author takes what might have been a joke in the hands of a lesser talent and transforms it into something touching.

BetaWolf -- Set in an exotic locale far from the places we know, this tale of an awe-inspiring encounter fills the reader with wonder.

martin321 -- Sardonic and cynical, this satire of human greed carries a biting message: caveat emptor.

AnyaKimlin -- The vast concept of exploring the universe is given a human touch here, through the use of emotions with which all can identify.

telford -- The author dares to confront the ultimate challenge to human beliefs, leaving the final interpretation to the reader.

Bowler1 -- Through the use of a sentient being who is not human, we see ourselves in a funhouse mirror, and wonder what parts of the reflection are true.

ratsy -- This parable of faith allows the reader to speculate about the human spirit and its unexpected strength.

Karn Maeshalanadae -- By showing us a pair of comrades struggling against overwhelming odds, the author presents us with the nearly limitless power of hope.

Glen -- In this dramatic and suspenseful story, the author strips away everything on which a human being can depend, except for one's self.

Brev -- With subtle hints of the menace facing the protagonist, this story reminds us that we must be cautious as we face the unknown.

RoninJedi84 -- This imaginative variation on a traditional account provides a chance to speculate on the meaning of human existence.

Remedy -- This heart-rending tale of tragedy and innocence allows the reader to decide if the ending is a hopeful one or not.

Mischov -- This unusual story offers a dark and thoughtful look at the price pay for the things we want.

Juliana -- This taut account of conflict supplies a ray of hope, as even enemies can learn to survive together.

Starbeast -- A familiar tradition of the holiday season is twisted into shapes beyond imagining and offered as a lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek gift.

BigJ -- By portraying a certain type of event which has happened all too often in history through unfamiliar eyes, we are required to look within ourselves and ask if we have been guilty of such things.

Perpetual Man -- This daring and uncompromising story faces the ultimate end of all material things, and goes beyond it.

Thank you, StarBeast, for your review. Wasn't sure how that one would go over.

And my gratitude to you, Victoria, for your encouraging words.

Thank you for the reviews SB and Victoria, as always greatly appreciated.

(And sorry SB!)

The sounds of screeching tyres and a loud crash, bowler1 enters. I'm ok, the cars missed me, to the disappointment of some I'm sure.

Victoria, a very deep and cool review of my post. Thank you.

Turning my head lights on (see, clever, the lights are on my head), I'm off, in search of more traffic.

Thank you Starbeast, I really appreciate you taking the time to review my entry, very kind words :) (my entry was perhaps a bit too sad for this festive time of year)

Remedy -- This heart-rending tale of tragedy and innocence allows the reader to decide if the ending is a hopeful one or not.
