Discussion Thread -- 300 Word Challenge #13

Story shortening in four easy steps:
1) Remove all phrases after quotes or thoughts. Example: "Ouch!" he said. vs "Ouch!"
2) Delete the following words: "A", "I", "and", "but", "or", "the"
3) Replace all visual descriptions with the word "red"
4) Replace all descriptions of action with the word "loudly"

Apply these highly artistic rules and VOILA! You will have an award winning challenge story.

Well, there you go; now I know what I've been doing wrong all this time! :D

Don't forget, Juliana, that you must also be pedaling a unicycle with your hands while reciting the Greek alphabet backwards in front of a stage of thousands while having monkeys dance around you in clown uniforms.

Can't I just set the monkeys to work typing for me?

You could, if I didn't already have them (chained up - used to be, but the Shop Steward put a stop to that too) in the spare room. Although, thinking about it, you can have them. It used to be easy, working for peanuts and all, but then they got unionised. Now its five a day, PG tips tea breaks and regular hours. It would be alright, but all they knock out is old Shakespeare stuff that they claim is art! I ask you, what is the world coming to?

So, do you still want the well dressed monkeys?

You make my Freedom-Lovin' American heart bleed.

First, you have to hide your use of sniper scopes, and now I see you have to bend over backwards for some damn commie primates! Damnit, what good was our killing all the Nazis if you folks back on that side of the pond still can't be free?

The UK, the home of worker's rights, women's rights and now monkey rights. It's not an easy life over here, with no 2nd amendment an all.

Heard the monkey unions are just plain bananas...

I know where I'd like to shove some bananas. So... do you want the monkeys or not?

Well, I've put mine out there now :)

So I can finally stop worrying about the words I can change... and start worrying about the ones I can't ;)

Wow, grand start to the competition, Remedy & Juliana! Wonderful stories, truly, and I love how differently you approached the subject photo! This should be a diverse and exciting ride! :)

Oh, you're on the ball this month, Ursa. :) Nice first stories, Remedy, Juliana. I think we can safely say we're all doing something different with the image this time... :D

Anyway, with apologies to any shrinkies; any I know would never do such a diabolical thing as frizzling someone's brains. :D

Such a great use of language, springs...every word seems exactly right! Really nice, CC

Oooh, aren't we a creepy lot this month?!
Very nice so far, loving the entries. Springs, I'm going to have the word frizzled on my mind all day... :D

Hee, that line came to me as I was going to sleep and I had to grab my phone and email to myself so I didn't forget in the morning!

Springs, you make me not want to write *ev-ah again! :(

Great story.

Another lovely person. :D Thank you very much.

Mr Orange; nice one. It's another tough month, I could happily vote for all the ones I've read so far! Shall we stop now... :D
