I was thinking (I do that occasionally) - it's clear there wasn't enough guessing done on the previous Anon challenge (although I admit to a couple of facetious guesses myself). Perhaps posting the names of those who've participated will encourage in the admittedly difficult task of recognising the perpetrators sufficiently to get more guesses, but it's not for certain. (What, me miffed at the fact nobody even considered I had entered, despite my unbroken record? Heaven forfend.)
But is it any shame in one's style being recognisable? Should one not feel pride that one can be recognised (not as better, but as an individual)? None of us have any desire to write precisely like each other (or anyone else, for that matter). Improving our writing does not involve approaching some sort of hypothetical perfection, but becoming the most effective possible in communicating a message, and that will change depending on the specific message to be transmitted.
Poor Chrispy. Hangs head in shame.
I'd like a list of entrants. I found it very hard last time. Pleeeeaaassse.
Also, I'm quite happy if I have a style people recognise. I believe that's called my voice.
