DISCUSSION -- January 2015 75 Word Writing Challenge

A short listing is nice thank you Kerry.

My list as follows - Telford, Bob Senior, River33, Parson and TDZ.
My vote to Parson who I'm sure will be very happy to get a vote. It was a nice simple and should I say sweet entry that worked of me.

Howdy,
J.L.Borstlap, thank you for the listing, I'll let you know what happens after the trial.

Phyrebrat, thank you for the listing and for putting me on your finalist list.

Bowler 1, thank you for the listing.

Parson and TDZ, have you decided yet? will it be fame or shame?

Bob

Bowler1 --- Parson is very, very happy to get a vote. Thank you so much!

Bob Senior --- Upon further review I choose both Hall of Fame and Shame. But I did like the story, see below.

----------

Short list:

Bob Senior: "Last Laugh" A memorable last line. But one I might wish to forget.
Boneman: "Loves Outcomes" This story had an ending that was logical, but I was surprised.
Chrispenycate: "Once Upon a Slime" Happily ever after can take more than one form.
Ursa Major: "A Lie as White as Snow" What is it about the Snow White story that gathers so much play from us? This was a very interesting take.
The Dusty Zebra: "Check Yes or No" This is a love story that most of us remember. And a last line that makes me think rather erotic thoughts.

The Contenders List:

Moonbat: "Self(ish) Preservation" A heart rending story of life and a selfless choice.
Bowler1: "Work Will Make You Free" That this could have been a true story makes it work all the more perfectly.

I voted for:

Perpetual Man: "The Greatest Love" How is this not "The Greatest Story Ever Told"? This is the story I should have written, but you did it better than I would have.

-------

When I voted for a story I wanted a story that was memorable and about true love. For a lot of people the words "I love you." Are meant with the emphasis on the "I" in the sentence, while true love must have the emphasis on "you." The more I saw that come through, the more I liked the story.

That was great to read through them all again. Some fantastic entries.
So I have a short list that contains:

Mosaix - Nights In
Boneman - Loves Outcome
Bowler1 - Work will make you free
Ashleyne B Watts - Nigel and Betty
Alchemist - Come with me

But my winner and garner of my votes was

Telford - Harry Lied.

My Long List, Short List and **** Favorite ****

1. The Three Suitors - Victoria Silverwolf
2. Harry Lied - telford
3. Saturday Afternoon at Bonnie's - Juliana
4. LAST LAUGH - Bob Senior
5. Meine Liebe - Culhwch

Excellent job again everyone! A lot of variety and creative entries. I enjoyed them all.

So many entries this month. I went through them all several times, picking a long list. Sat on that list for a couple days, reread my choices and then cut that in half for a short list, then again cut the short list, down to two finalists.

Long, Short *, finalists **

springs *
Victoria silverwolf
telford *
Juliana *
Culhwch
crystal Haven
Boneman
Mr. Orange **
Ursa Major
The Judge **

Picking between Mr. Orange and The Judge's entries involved quite a bit of back and forth. By a hair I went with Mr. Orange.

Thanks for the shortlisting, Moonbat :)

My shortlist:

Love Stinks by willwallace

True Love ( or last will and testament ) by ratsy

The Power of LoveAzzagorn

The Aroma of Loveby parson

My vote goes to: Loves Outcome by Boneman

Thanks for the listings folks. I may attempt 12 75 tales of the Dark Lord this year and see if I can shoe horn him and his minion in each time. Apologies in advance for awful puns if I manage it.

Now back to the entries. Top three for me ...

Telford - Harry lied ... nice snippet of a life gone sour
ratsy - True love ... great last line that made me chuckle (shhh don't tell my wife)
karn - One or the other ... the eternal struggle for snack choices

The one to get the vote ... ratsy ... again don't tell the wife ;)

Thanks again to the reviewers, Victoria, JLB and Perp. It was nice to have a variety of commentators.

I see that I just got a vote, which makes Monday worth waking up for ! Thank you so much Luiglin! (I won't tell your wife if you don't tell mine)

Thanks for the listings Kerry, Phyre, Sancho, and Ashleyne.

I'll be back for a final read through and vote later today or tomorrow.
