Star Trek: Discovery - new series in 2017

I like the picture!
I do too. You will, no doubt, be pleased that I find nothing to fault. ;) Maybe you have been right all long, that their production problems were simply the same kind of things that every series encounters, but the kind of fan generated pressure that has put this particular series under a microscope blows every little fault or change way out of all proportion.

Not many series will go on location to Jordan, so they are spending some money on this and raising expectations. I'd like to know nothing about it before I watch it, but I can see that is going to be impossible. Way too much interest in it for that.

It's one of the most anticipated new shows of season, for star trek fans, and probably scifi fans. Unfortunately though it will struggle to get more audience, because this is another sci-fi show you will need to be searching for. That is unless they have a guardians of the galaxy type marketing budget for this thing. Netflix better blast it out there.

works well for me. The photo made me think.... "Star Wars?" but the trailer is definitely "Star Trek" and for the first time I really believe that there might be something available to see one day.

It won't load
It doesn't work for me either. It must have a regional block. I can't see the point of that really. It only drives people to watch things illegally; which is exceedingly easy to do. So, pointless really. More than that, it shows the marketing executives are out of touch with the very audience that they need to connect with if they want this to be successful.

??? Did we watch the same trailer?

In the trailer I saw, there were two characters in the desert. One had what appeared to be a flip-type communicator and a tricorder on her waist but neither used any technology (save for the one calling to be beamed up).

We got only brief looks at the ship (but still very cool), and a brief look at what I assume was the bridge - but we saw no technology there.

Now I have no doubt the show will appear more advanced; but that's because it doesn't have to be as cheesy as TOS (who used items like exotic salt shakers). That's unavoidable.

It looked even more advanced then Next Generation.
