Discussion -- November 2017 -- 75 Word Challenge

@Suzanne Jackson .... Ain’t No Way To Make A Living .... This story reminds us that what is sold in the booths at the carnival are mostly glitz and no go, but nobody wants to know the truth.

I tried to think of a story for this month's challenge but I couldn't After doing a bit of research to see what I was dealing with, I thought I had an idea but it just fizzled. So no postings from me this month. I will, however, try to vote as the holidays are coming up.

Happy Turkey Day to all.
:D

Me neither, I tried for a while to try to get a good idea out of my head with poor results, it isn't my genre, that's all. But I will vote for sure.

The Six Guns Shooter, @Mith – The tension mounts in this tentacular spectacular that puts the ‘arms’ in firearms. With six times the chances, this marvellous mollusc was always the favourite.

Ain’t No Way To Make A Living, @Suzanne Jackson – A case of ‘be careful what you wish for’ and ‘ignorance is bliss’. It turns out that being a snake oil salesman doesn’t guarantee you have a forked tongue.

The Cowboy and the Clown, @Perpetual Man – An undead killer shouldn’t be frightened of anything, right? Clowns, however, are no laughing matter. DOUBLE KO!

Would love if a good idea come out of my head for this challenge, but nothing, neither the dumbest one.
And I'm freaking late on my project schedule, a lot of school's tests and OMG, I just realized that I have to finish my project before holidays.
Guuuuuuuud

Yes, sometimes we just don't have the time, the inspiration, or the energy. It happens to us all. (It may not have happened to some people yet.)

But it's also true that sometimes we surprise ourselves and inspiration hits when we least expect it. Sometimes I wake up with an idea in the morning after I've stopped trying to force it. If only it were always that easy, but it isn't.

@Teresa Edgerton .... The Bargain (Out Past Joshua Tree) .... This story really puts the spooky out in the desert. I don't want to go out there and I don't want to what happened either!

Jam roly poly and custard. Oh sorry, wrong, dessert.
Grrrr! I've never gotten that right. I don't even think when I type desert. (To me that word is a very dry area and the sweet ending to a meal. --- To me dessert looks like a misspelling of desert. Wrong.... but what can I say.)

I'm even more frustrated that as I was ripping off the review I left out, "find out." I don't want to (find out) what happened either!

@Teresa Edgerton ... sorry about the poorly written review.

That does sound horrifying! (But it's the wrong hemisphere, too.)

But you did spell it right. I knew you meant "find out" and I liked the review.

And a reminder:

For those who haven't submitted their stories yet and have Thanksgiving tomorrow, time really is getting short now.

(And for those who can't write because they are maybe putting too much pressure on themselves, remember that the Challenge isn't to write the story that gets the most votes—as exciting as that can be—but to simply write a story to the length, theme, and genre. Everyone who does is a winner.)

Very true. Sometimes writing outside of what is our norm brings surprising results, and (as I've said before) any entry will almost certainly help to improve you in future months.

One thing is for sure, it certainly won't be as bad as you think it might be, all entries are unique and enjoyable in their own way.
