Calesta, Welcome to the Chronicles Network!

Just when I thought I couldn't hate Catelyn any more than I did... she came back as an udead $#&#@.

Boaz, what about Beric Dondarion? Wasn't he like her? After all, he gave his life to bring her back, and he was brought back many times by Thoros.

Undead Beric was still a rational, if zealous, individual. He died serving the King. When he came back, he was still trying to do the King's justice. He let the Hound go after he won the trial by combat.

Remember that Catelyn died while insane and consumed by revenge. When she was alive, she protested Lysa's sham of a trial against Tyrion. As Undead Catelyn, she is all about revenge (actually genocide) against the Freys. She promised the Freys that she'd allow Merrit to ransom Petyr. Instead she murdered them both. She's even crazier (and deadlier) dead than alive.

I don't like Theon. I think he is too arrogant. And I think he does not really achieve much in the story. He died shortly after he took over winterfell. He wanted to be a king, but until the end, he died without winning his father's love.

Well, he lusted after a 13 year old girl. I meant like a sexual and emotional predator, really more like a parasite. He's just a disgusting individual. He demonstrates possessive and paranoid behavior frequently.

Also, he's kind of gross and ugly.

Maybe he was just in lust with her promise? You know, rightful heir to the throne of Westeros and all. Or she was an early bloomer. In another or, maybe he was indeed just a pervert.

That is a good point. However, I believe that it is more out of a "last thing they remember" thing than actually in what they believe. Beric would've remembered chasing down Gregor for Robert, and Catelyn would remember "Revenge! Revenge!"

That does have some sense in it. Beric said that he and his followers were the kings men and they are doing the justice of king Robert and fighting for the people ad all. As for Catelyn, she seems hell bent on revenge. I don't know how this will affect the story, but even though I do not hate Catelyn, I think trading Beric for Catelyn is a bad exchange.

We did not see un-Beric until he'd been re-killed a dozen times or more. I think he'd lost his zest for un-living by the time he ordered Sandor's release... and really was tired of his un-life by the time he found Catelyn's bloated corpse.

I can only hope that un-Catelyn will also tire of her un-life and will choose to leave quietly like un-Beric. But somehow I doubt this will happen. So who will re-kill un-Catelyn? Will it take dragonglass? Will Sam reprise his role as Slayer? Will Sansa meet her dead mother? Will Catelyn hate Sansa for marrying Tyrion and running around with Littlefinger? Will Jon re-kill his brother's mother with Valyrian steel, obsidian, or fire? Or will Arya be sent to end un-Catelyn's reign of terror?

Catelyn is an easy choice as most hateable character for me. I actually kind of like Cersei and Walder Frey...or rather, my hatred towards them seems intended. For someone who's trying to do right by the many characters i enjoy, Catelyn is the world's biggest beating.

Well, whoever kills Catelyn, let him do so after she exterminates the Freys! >:)
Really hate that bunch of traitors.

I am predicting here and now that Catelyn will order the murder of Tyrion and Sansa gets in the way (once she has realised Petyr's more interested in making a booty call on her). Sansa dies and Catelyn just dies out of the "Aw, wtf bbq" feeling. And for added laughs, I think that she should learn that Bran and Rickon aren't dead after all. Just before she dies, of course. Or...un-dies? I don't really like Catelyn but I stand by my earlier opinion of Bran being the most hated POV character.

"Wah wah, green eye, wah wah, three eye crow, wah wah, daddy, wah wah. Oh look, that Reed girl is kinda hot. Oh well. wah wah"

Ha ha ha!

I hope un-Cat stays away from Sansa, and that Sansa and Arya reunite and achieve great things together. And everyone lives happily ever after.

Jaime might be my most hated character solely for the fact that he ought to have finished the job there so we didn't have to listen to him whine about not being a knight ;)

Funny, but 6 months later, I feel I don't hate Catelyn anymore. I think I understand her actions and motivations better. She probably did things to the best her abilities and her values allowed.

Still, I'm rereading from book 1 as opposed to cherry picking chapters from here and there, so I may start hating her again.

For me it was a choice between Cersei and Walder but I decided that Walder was more deserving of contempt than hatred.

Welcome Landroval

For me, if I were to publish my own dictionary, Walder's face would be next to the "hate" entry. It wasn't just the idea of killing people after they've eaten at your table.

Killing Greywind and sewing his head on RObb's body was for me and act of the purest evil. Walder can't die a horrible enough death to suit me.

Has to be Cerei for me. The cheer arrogance of the woman just grates my nerves, not to speak about her sheming ...

It's Cersie hands down . What would drive someone to squeeze a baby's pecker in it's crib until it cries? That is henious and absolute evil! Not to mention its her brother. Tyrion should have put a crossbow through her as well for that!

Joffrey Baratheon. Without a doubt. He's the only character whose death I cheered. Every time he spoke I felt like hitting things. No one is even close.
