New GRRM Update on ADWD

And it only took six years to deliver...

I guess I am lucky as I just started the books about this time last year and finished Storm of Swords in June or July.

Thomas Harris also keeps his readers waiting about 5 years, he wrote Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon and Hannibal.

I liked this short video with GRRM's editor, where she reads a couple of random sentences out of ADwD. That is a huge pile of paper!!

YouTube - A DANCE WITH DRAGONS is complete!

So the last word in the book starts with a D. I have this awful feeling that it might be something like "And with those final words, Jaime died". Say it isn't so! :D

That last word is bound to be "dragon".

Okay, that'll be a typo, and it should read "drag on", but I'm sure they'll sort that out. (Besides, the books are fantasy and not meant to portray real life, let alone the writing process....)

:rolleyes:;):eek::)

I smell a new bet thread coming on: Guess the last word in ADWD!

(putting my money on Dorne! total dark horse bet)

It would be a double bet: if the last word is dead, then to whom is it referring?

(We have to remember, though, that this is likely to be the last word in an Epilogue.)

It could be something like "As she stood in front of the Iron Throne, all knelt before Queen Daenerys".

Don't think that's all that likely, but you never know! :)

Don't worry BadHabit. GRRM has confirmed many times that ADWD will not only run parallel to AFFC but also advance the story beyond where AFFC left-off with POV's from some of the characters in AFFC like Arya and Asha.

I'm going to tape a kindle to my face.

Just an fyi.

I've already told my wife that she can't plan anything for at least the 12th-16th. I'm going to tape my headphones to my head and listen to the dulcet voice of Roy Dotrice until I can't stay awake, then sleep, rinse and repeat until I'm done.

Then I'm going to re-read it. :)
