Casting news from the TV series

That shot of "Tyrion" with Mord (sp?) is fabulous.
If done properly the view from his "cell" should be brilliant too :p
Also i can't wait to see how they're going to do his "make-up" post blackwater battle thingie! (that's far in the future but still)

Those are good stills.

I'm not sure how I saw Jaime when I read the books, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau looks the part as far as I'm concerned. And Addy looks a lot better than I'd imagined in the picture in Wert's link.

As for Peter Dinklage, he looks just right for the part, even when his physical staure is ignored: he's simply oozing determination in that picture from the cell.

Holly septon! These are awesome. I love Addy in that shot, which I assume is the courtyard at Winterfell. But my giant of a Lannister totally rocks!

There are meant to be a few (four?) more stills in the paper magazine, but these should eventually appear somewhere online.

Oooooh, those photos look awesome! I especially like Tyrion, very fitting. I don't think I've ever imagined Jon quite like that, but then again I don't really see the characters anyway.

Poor Sean Bean can't catch a break with characters, though. First Boromir, now Eddard...:D

I'm just hoping that the "news" of his impending doom doesn't make it's way around the net too quickly.

I was surprised how small Rory McCann looked in that brief glimpse of his "fight" with Stevens. Just goes to show how big (and not just how tall) Conan Stevens is.

Hoopy you better have finished the books if you're gallivanting around here! That's right, I saw no one usher you out of the 'Who Said that' page!

I really loved those pictures as well. I feel Jon Snow will be one of my faves (as he is in the books).

I feel the same way about how Jon is portrayed. He doesnt appear to have the slinder stark features in his face that was eloquently described in the book. However, I think Arya is spot on, in which they should have the same facial features that the Starks are known to have.

In the book, we can take more from the descriptive writing and "draw our own conclusions" (R+L+J, etc., etc., etc.,). On screen, he more resembles a ******* of King Robert than Ned.

Hahahaha!

Personally, I'd prefer them to pick the best actors that might vaguely be related then to focus too much on family resemblance. That's just my $0.02.

With the current exchange rate, that two cents is nothing to scoff at, either! I'm in agreement with you, HJ. I'd prefer a capable actor who doesn't quite match up in the looks department, to an actor who fits the bill physically but couldn't act their way out of a cardboard box...
