The Valonqar

Cersei would be seriously unhappy at losing control over King Tommen.:D

Perhaps Uncle Kev could step in here? He did offer and he might be better at treating Tommen as king instead of using him as a means to be king(well, queen in Cersei's case)
I can't help but feel sorry for Tommen, because since Cersei is his mother and he is king, some difficult decisions may arise..

Is it my delivery? Do I need to spell it out? Am I not funny at all? I know child defenestration is not funny.

So there's Tommen, unprotected, in his tower... Just like Bran... But Jaime will be standing right next to Tommen.
Well, as Lord Commander, Jaime will be there. But then again if push comes to shove... better not to have Jaime there.
Nothing? Ah, well. I must concede to Ursa Major as having the keenest with among us.

I confess that I didn't get it, Boaz!

Not everyone likes my jokes either...I guess that is a risk on message boards. Nobody can hear your tone of voice or see your facial expression, which I suppose aids me a lot in "real" life. We need icons for a slightly raised eyebrow, a minor pause, an extra dry tone, or an out and out goofy face. Is there a smiley for "pun to follow"?

I do such good mimicry too. Sigh. All lost...sob.

Ursa is ursinacious.

I laughed when I read your allusion, Boaz. (I was even tempted to add to it by referencing someone of clouded parentage from The Vale and suggesting that Jaime might drop them like a stone, but couldn't think of anyone suitable at the time (or since)....)

As well as, or instead of, occasionally using smilies (particularly the , to point out wordplay, but sometimes the ;), to point out other playfulness**), I sometimes add an ellipsis to the full stop (=period) to suggest I'm not being entirely serious (as above).

(I won't risk basking in being called ursinacious as I - and I suspect everyone save for Eulalia - have not the foggiest idea of what it means. But I hope it's good. :))

** - Though don't look for consistency in my use of smilies.

ursinacious--possessing the qualities of Ursa (;))

It's beary good, don't you think! (eye roll)

Thanks for smiley tutorial :)))

Ursa, dropped like a stone, which I'm guessing means dropped like a Stone, is very clever

Although the inability to put a name to create the joke does show up my patchy memory of the books in some (if not all) regards. Given the possible imminence of ADWD, I really think I need to start my re-read soon.

Everyone knows that Bran is the younger brother that Maggie The Frog sees in her prophecy
It is not known. What is known is that Cersei thinks the Valonqar is Tyrion. If the Valonqar is Jon, then my crackpot ideas are right and Aerys fathered almost as many bastards as Robert. Uh, but I think the leading (and possibly only) candidates are Tyrion and Jaime.

Sorry Boaz, my comment there was sarcasm dripping with venom. I have to live up to my namesake once in a while.

I wondered, but there are so many crazy ideas that sometimes I take jokes seriously. Boazes are notoriously gullible.

SOrry for the confusion Boaz. I wish there was a convention we could use that indicated sarcasm. On another forum I post on, sarcastic remarks are expected to be in green colored font. Anyway, everyone really knows it's RICKON.

Actually, did Maggie mention whose younger brother it would be? I don't think so. I just remember her saying THE Valonqar, not YOUR. hmmmm.

here I go again.

Wouldn't is be ironic if Rickon as Shaggy Dog, or Bran as Summer, ended up ripping Cersei's throat out.

No need to apologize, I should have a better grip on your posts by now. It's just that it was in respone to Alexisonfire's very first post...

I just posted on Why say Tyrion's a Targ? that I cannot keep all the postulations, prognostications, crackpot theories, and jokes straight anymore. It's all too confusing...

I agree, and i can only imagine how hard it's been for those of you that have been waiting since 2005 for ADWD. I remember how crazy I was by thed time King finished The Dark Tower series, and there really wasn't much there to speculate about, but just the waiting between books was awful

I'm going to make a personal appeal to GRRM to get it done.

Maybe he'll listen

No, don't harrass the man. Let him live in peace. I believe that the more normal of a life that he lives, the better he'll cope with this monster of a tale in the long run. I hope he has a great time watching the Super Bowl with his friends. I hope he takes long naps on the couch. I hope he holds hand with Parris on evening walks.

I promise I won't harrass him. I'm still adding to that peom I wrote, and will be sending it to him when it's done.

I am currently doing a re-read of AFFC in advance of ADWD coming out. The book is even better the second time around.

Anyways, in Cersei's first chapter of AFFC when she is woken after Tywin was assassinated, she refers to Tyrion as her Valonquar twice. Once at the beginning of the chapter and once at the end.

I will keep a running tab as to whether or not Valonquar is mentionned again.

I am convinced Cersei is in for a big surprise, her Valonquar is Jaime not Tyrion!
